There is a small plastic peg on each strip that stops them sliding off that you need to depress . look along the bottom of each strip & you will see a small cut out that's were the locking pin is ,
The cheaper models did not have the display in the dash but had a head unit with a display in it , The shaft that runs through the middle of the steering rack can bend if impacted/curbed hard this will give you tight steering or no return .
Last time I saw some thing like that was in the good old days of gt turbos , to much heat & incorrect fueling was the main cause . last year had a dci clio that melted the pistons to the head as in your pic that I put down to a fooooked turbo and injectors
No worries & don't be tempted by those chong cartridges on ebay as they last about a week lol ,would rather have a good second hand unit but it is a gamble
If your referring to it not cranking over another good place to check is the engine earth when it wont start take a jump lead & run it from the battery - negative terminal to the engine pref near the starter & see if it starts if it does it needs a earth lead from gear box to the body
You have to swop the wires round in the connector DO NOT CUT THEM if you look there is a little plastic flap on the connectors pop this up then use a small screwdriver to press the detent tab on each wire then swop them round to the right order .
Another reason I got rid of mine lol , the keyless entry and start worried me to much . Had a customers 197 in for repair an parked it over the other side of our yard say 200 yards away hung the card on the wall and forgot about it . went up to the car not thinking jumped in pressed the button...
Worth checking the 2 amp fuse in the dash board fuse box as when blown can give that problem or key reader but both shots in the dark without diagnostic
you need the bits out of the bumper that the lights sit in ,& if you want them to work fist thing to do is check there are contacts in your fuse box for front fogs
