The idea behind it is either to pre-soak and loosen the grime before a bucket wash or even to reduce the need to use a wash mitt at all.
I have not got a pressure washer but use a pre foam soak before washing with the Gilmour and a hose using a mix of small amount of snow foam and Meguiars...
Fairly aggressive as you found. Would not be my choice unless there was alot of contamination. The green on the other hand often appears to be too mild.
I wish I could find the Megs Quick Clay bars on there own as it seems the prefect medium.
Have you ever used any paste type waxes before ?
A small amount, a swipe across the top of the tub is good to do a door or wing or so sat 1/4 of a roof or bonnet. Little goes a long way. Nice and thin is the key as anything you remove is excess wasted product.
