At least its over dude, just had engine failure myself there. Engine turned up the other day, hopefully have it in midweek.
I can sympathise with the PITA it is
Nice job Matt and fred (+others i dont know) im sure you're glad to see it finished. I'd love more details on the airbox over the itb's should anyone in the know feel kind enough to pm me :)
Easy enough tbh mate, plenum bolts off (10mm) whip that off, pull out the ht leads and you will need a spark plug tool to get the plugs out.
Not 100% on the size but I think its the same as a 16mm socket
If its just leaking between the flanges get some loctite 5920 I think it is. Its copper colour anyway and seals it up nicely and still gives some flex.
There were literally no symptoms just happened all of a sudden when i was doing 30-40mph.
Have an engine sorted just waiting for couriers starting before getting it picked up. Lol im over in Ireland, so nobody is ever close but isn't that bad getting the engine over on a pallet, about £100 or...
Well some might know I suspected that the car dropped a valve just before christmas so I began stripping the engine to see what the craic was.
Hope to have the new engine sometime in the next week, once the couriers start back working again....... such a pain in the ass time for it to happen...
