It definately wasnt the manifold making the noise, possibility the noise could have been coming from the engine itself. Powerloss was similar to that of a lambda problem. Driving with minimal acceleration was as normal, until the engine stopped dead. Its the way its trying to turn over thats...

Sounded metal on metal and the best way to describe it would be if the manifold came loose and was banging off the heatshield, but only when pressing the acc pedal. Coming off it at any revs and the noise went away.

Ok finally got it towed to the garage and the battery charged overnight from dying on the way home. Tried to start it up and it turned and started on which sounded like 1/2 a cylinder if that was even possible then died..... strange. Wouldn't start up again on a second try so left it. I guess...

That must have had serious money put into it, recaros and all! Does look spot on, doesn't warrant the price tag tho as you say
