Are fibre glass seats road legal?
I should imagine they are not too comfy though?
I want a pair of seats that are lighter than standard but not some £500 carbon fibre jobs.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
I know most valvers get the dreaded rust on the rear arches.
Just wondered if anybody knew if you can replace the rear arches to rpevent it from coming back.
Most bodyshops I have spoken to either wont rouch rust, or say "we can do it but it will come back anyway so why bother?"
Cheers
Cheers for replies.
Dont suppose either of you would know how great a difference there would be between valver/willy loom and an RT?
ie- If transplanting a 2.0 into an RT what electrics/extra sensors have to be considered?
Thanks again
Brun, I assume you have std rear brake setup?
Do you find that adequate for the performance increase?
I know you also have 16v front calipers and uprated disks
On a valver, if you wanted to fit a 2.0 willy engine, can you utilise the 1.8 loom.
ie - does everything plug in the same?
I know you need the 2.0 ECU really, but will this just plug into the 1.8 loom?
Cheers
Woo Hoo! I never win anything. (Ok runner up but that still counts)
Got my prize this morning. Very smart.
See it proves that membership is worth while, I dont even own a clio anymore!
Placebo effect I reckon.
Agree with Nick Read. If the valver ECU is not capable of adjusting to allow for the increased octane rating, how can Optimax benefit?
I understand impedance and loads but the bit I am not sure about is this.
If you bridge a 2 channel amp to power 1 SVC 4 ohm sub, what load are you placing on the amp?
I would have said that it was still operating at 4 ohms?
Depends on what rating the sub is! And whether you wire it in parallel or in series.
What model sub?
If it is a dual 4ohm sub then as Russ said, you can either force a 2 ohm or 8 ohm load on the amp.
If it is a dual 2 ohm sub, you can either force a 1 ohm or a 4ohm load on the amp...
If an amp produces 1x1600RMS at 2ohms is that the power that each sub connected will receive, or is that shared between them?
Eg. If you connected two 4ohm 800RMS rated subs, thereby increasing the load to 2 Ohms, would they each be getting 800RMS (just right) or would they each be getting...
Cheers for that :)
Now I have another question. If you run your speakers from an amplifier, am I right in thinking that you are bypassing the built-in amplifier in the head unit? So basically so long as you buy a decent amp, what difference does one head unit make from another if all you are...
Was on my way back from Kettering to Birmingham with a car full of mates.
On the M6 doing about 85 when somehting behind came up close then backed off a bit but was still too close for my comfort.
He then starts flashing me and Im thinking WTF? I cant speed up coz theres a car in front and...
I am amp shopping at the moment.
A lot of companies quote the RMS at 14.4V rather than at 12V
Does this mean that in reality they will be producing less than quoted?
Cheers
What do you mean normal way? Drill holes/drill out wiring connector, what?
Cant read the manual because I havent bought it yet. Only want to buy it if I can do this.
Cheers
1. Whats the best way of running decent speaker cable from inside the car to the speakers/tweeters that will be mounted in my front door?
2. Can I take a 6 channel amp (4x50RMS + 2x75RMS @ 4ohms) and bridge 2 channels to make a 2x100RMS + 2x75RMS?
3. Are Directed Audio amplifiers any good?
Ta
The EVIL Ice car is a mark 1 clio so doesnt have a curved window. (Has a couple of exterior mods though ;) )
Still, not a great car for accoustics.
Hey Russ what equipment/setup are you using?
So Optimax is the highest RON unleaded in the UK?
And also will offer little benefit over normal unleaded to a valver?
May as well buy normal stuff from now on. (Im such a marketing victim)
Atmospheric dump valves tend to cause boost errors with that engine.
Something to do with the ECU registering a drop in boost, which is why a recirculating valve works better.
