Are both sides of the car jacked up? It makes it easier this way, a spare jack also makes it easier to just lift the shock up a bit so you can get the bolts in.
Seems like a pretty good security measure, so even if someone was to get the keys they probably wouldn't have a baldy how to start it, or at least take some time
Yeah that will snap off mate once you set the wheel on, once its tightened up it might be less of a problem though. What brand are they mate if you dont mind me asking? Having a battle over a similar issue at the moment :(
