Thanks for all the replies.
I have to say I agree with the majority of what people have said.
I prefer the looks, exclusivity and interior of the 106 over the VTS however for me, insurance is the main factor.
I know people have said that the 106 should be cheaper to insure, but from all...
I have just been in one and oh my god does this thing shift.
I currently have a summer job at the Peugeot plant in Ryton.
I had seen a couple of these being checked over and tested.
Today at work someone I know was driving one around the plant so I jumped in.
It was difficult to...
Thought this might get a bit of attention.
Basically what do people think of this car?
I want a new car and it has to be fast coz I am absolutely fed up of being whooped by d1ckheads in Vectra V6s and the like.
I know its not a 172 (but I cant afford one and the VTS has free insurance)...

17s wont put the speedo out by that much on a 172 but on an earlier car, they have a much bigger rolling circumference than the standard alloys.
If you fitted 17" alloys to a 172 with 205/40/17 tyres, your speedo will be approximately 2.4% too slow.
Basically when your speedo says you are...
Yeah I have to say I was quite impressed.
I think it was the turbo as my mate said his dad used to have one and it had twin exhaust pipes.
As I say, this thing didnt half shift, especially considering the size of it.
I take it a 620Ti would have all the toys?

Was coming home the other day and joining the motorway from a big, fast island. This Rover 600 (dunno what engine etc) came racing round and belted it past a calibra 16v that was caning it.
Dont know much about these cars but jees this one was fast.
Just wondered if anyone knew anything...

I have a 1997 clio (phase 3) and was wondering if anyone knew how different the exhaust system on a mk2 clio is from mine?
Would it be a real hassle trying to get one to fit?
Its just that remus do a tasty twin exit backbox, but only for the mk2 clio.
If not I will have to go to...
You need to get a decent junior hacksaw blade, wrap the end in tape and saw off the old pins as close the base of them as possible.
Of course I am not speaking from experience as every time I try to remove my door cards I bottle it coz I dont want to snap the clips.
After you remove all...
How much do they rub at the back?
How wide are they and have they slowed the car down much?
Do you think if I went for a 40mm drop I would get any probs?
Cant decide what size wheels to go for.
I know 15s with a 195/45 tyre would be pretty much the same rolling diameter as what Ive got now. (165/60/14) Except for the extra width. But I shouldnt have any trouble with scrubbing even after I slam it.
On the other hand every time I am about to...
Hi mate
I think the problem with a supercharger is under bonnet space on the flywheel side of the engine. I had a brief look into this as there is a company in the UK who sell home conversion kits. They are not cheap (around 2000 pounds) and then you would have to work out how to do the...
Yeah had a look
Problem is I reckon I could get something that worked and was practical without much hassle.
But making it look good when the bonnets up is going to be a bit trickier.
I am doing a similar thing to my clio.
Being a measley 1.4 I dont care if I dont get any power increases but I want something different to what you usually get.
Also on the 1.4 the airbox sits directly on top of the throttle (dunno if this is the same with the 16v and others) which is...
Hi mate, I wanted to remove the door card because I had a really annoying rattle and also wanted to fit annodised door pins.
Basically I gave up in the end because after removing all the screws, it is still held on really tight with plastic clips. I managed to pop a few out but I was having...
1.) What is the Renault paint code for Williams Blue?
2.) Will 6.5x16" Alloys fit on an RT? What drop would be best to go for and what arch mods might be necessary?
Cheers all
Hey Colin did you get the manifolds from 5 Alive as well?
If not who did it for 300 quid?
In total how much did everything cost you and did you do some of the work yourself. If so how difficult was it?
Cheers for any help
Ive got Infinity 6" components with crossovers and separate tweeters.
I had to build some custom door pods to get them to fit but it was well worth it.
They are amped with an Alpine V12 T407 which is about 2x50 RMS
They sound very good and have great clarity but theyre not really for...
Dont think Nick does custom exhausts anymore does he?
Oh yeah and if you see him can you ask if hes got my annodised engine caps that I ordered last October yet!!
