What’s going on with the forum spam?!

Apologies if this has already been covered … I’ve been on here since 2004, and occasionally log on for info/ parts/ a nosey. Each time I’m faced with spam galore! I’ve screen recorded it. Is it my device, or has everyone got the same issue viewing the forum? Shame as there’s lots of good help...

    182 constantly in limp mode

Hello! I’m having issues with the EML light and the coil light (under the fuel low light) coming on, and loosing power. It’s scanning as throttle position sensor track A. I’ve changed the pedal and potentiometer to a good working spare, and also cleaned the contacts on both the throttle body...

    Getting my 182 through Emissions

I will have a look this weekend. I've ordered another cat (The ebay shop whom i returned it to 6 weeks ago have stop replying) and i cannot see a way to get it back! I have 2 new lambda sensors to install, new spark plugs and a full oil service for good measure! I think anything that controls...

    Getting my 182 through Emissions

Thanks for the reply’s. I’m going to install 2 new Lambda sensors and try another cat, and maybe change the spark plugs. I’ve read that the ‘white plug’ needs attention on these, can cause lots of error codes which my OBD2 has picked up on. It did have a small leak pre cat so maybe that was...

    Getting my 182 through Emissions

Also to add, the car was running Shell Optimax, the mechanic tried for quite some time to get heat into the cat, plus a long drive before MOT.

    Getting my 182 through Emissions

Hello! Last June (2023) my 182 passed MOT with a new ‘Cat2u Cat’ The car has done ~900 miles since, and having re MOT’ed for this year, failed on emissions. The garage said it’s the cat. I’ve removed it and sent it off under the 2 year warranty (week 5 now, still not heard back) I was...

Replacing rear brake pipes on 172 Ph2

Can’t see why it wouldn’t work. If you look up my last thread, I did the rear lines myself this weekend , using the BRT motorsport rear kit (this does away with the smaller rear link pipes. Might help you a bit

    Installing Rear lines - 182

Thanks for the tip Rob, I’m a spark so I’ll have some grommets lying around. Yours looks immaculate underneath! As someone commented, I ordered the £17 brake repair kit off the bay; bit of practising and will install two new unions on the green/ black lines I think is my best option. No rush...

    Installing Rear lines - 182

Please give me some inspiration for my weekend task… I’m replacing the lines from both rear callipers to the axle with BRT kit. These do away with the small link pipes (I’m told) How on earth do you get these unions undone?! Rustier than titanic. Bought an 11mm flair spanner, added WD40...

    197 steering wheel in a 182

Bit of a thread revival! I tried this job today. I need to go back at some point and put on an a thicker M20 washer. I tried a smaller one, but with the 197 wheel shaft being ‘cone’ shaped it didn’t seem to make any difference and rubs on the cowling still. Anyhow, if these images and steps...

    Sound bar recommendations

I picked up a Polk from R/sounds last week, for the new kitchen Snug area. For the price it’s absolutely fantastic! Wireless sub too. Think it was only 170 quid.
