Glenn, the problem is that people sell the cars on with problems, but they never tell you. Bit immorral if you ask me, ive always been honest when selling a car. Lets face it one of the biggest reasons for selling an old car is that it has something wrong with it. Each owner adds a few problems...
Drive shaft is leaking at gearbox end. Exhaust might be blowing a bit from the manifold area, but not sure. Brakes are worn. The car drives ok, but i want to get it handling well. Its this weather, i really hate it. All the little jobs i could do, i just cant do them as its dark so early and so...
Depends what you want doesnt it?. I could have got as lot of things with the money i spent. I bought the Williams because i like rare things that nobody else in the world has. Plus ive always wanted one as a kid, and it was the realisation of my dream / goal (achievements of goals is an...
Well see my other post. I expected a few problems as its an old car. I got a good deal, because of its age and a few parking dents (we are talking valver money). Seems that people with cars on 50-70k also have broken springs and loose steering, so im not sure if its a bad deal or not. Id rather...
I was worried when i bought a 125k mile Williams, as i thought it might become a bit of a money pit. I got a good deal on it, so it gave me some extra cash to throw at it incase anything needed replacing, and sure enough it did. Now i could have spent twice as much as i did getting a low milage...
From doing the search this seems quite a common problem. I have play in the steering and loose steering. Just need some advice so i know what to do.
1. I have been told it is unlikely to be the column as there is little to wear? Is this fair?
2. More likely to be the rack. Nick Hill from...
Parts are often cheap and labour is a tw*t. What about getting the ferry to spain with all the parts youll need changing in the near future and getting a garage there to do it? There labour must be cheaper. A drive to Poland anyone? I heard you can pay in peanuts there;)
Wade round with Glen Ross and Marius Pudzianowski and tell the little sh*ts you want cash back or youre gonna have to break something.
Its the cash roper, or were gonna have to break something -Ross
You got it? - Pudzianowski
No - Alarm Fitter
Then this is for your own good - You
Whats a steering column and what is a steering rack? What price are they, how much to fit, and what is it likely to be worn if i have play in the steering wheel and a wobbly drivers side front wheel?
Cheers
Can someone give me a run down of the different categories of insurance write off. Also does anyone know how far you can strip a car down and for it still to be classed as a car (ie still registered as a car). When does the v5 become useless in terms of telling you this heap of strap metal is a...
Thanks Jas, id like a hat too please, with the King on it and two of those beer holders on each side with straws to drink from. And also while were on the subject of badges, where are the GOLD CLIOSPORT STICKERS FOR WILLIAMS OWNERS???????????
Is it possible to order from Renault just the steering arm rod (bit that goes from the ball and socket joint on the steering column to the wheel) for a Williams? Or do you have to order the whole column to include this bit? If you can order it separate, how much is it? If not how much is a column?
Try this for 10 mpg decrease in fuel consumption. At junctions short shift. Accelerate really slowly. Try to maintain a constant speed of 56 mph. Brake as little as possible to maintain speed. Rip out the spare tire.
Above will also increase the lifespan of your car and reduce component wear...
Just got back from Hill Power. Nick has had a good look at the car and it seems to get a good bill of health. Will need some new brakes in the near future, there is a small leak from the end of the driveshaft and possibly the steering arms rod arm will need replacing (if this is possible on a...
Just off to see Nick in lovely rural Derbyshire with Williams 0200. Should be fun. Getting cam belt and suspension sorted. Bet its freezing over there.
The letter is going out to Williams as we speak. Also to Renault. Its been 10 years you know since my baby was born;). Be nice to have some official club recognition if it goes ahead too hey Jas?........Jas?......hello?........Jas?
P.S. Rajks Williams isnt exactly fast anymore!!
