Willimas steering arm rod

Is it possible to order from Renault just the steering arm rod (bit that goes from the ball and socket joint on the steering column to the wheel) for a Williams? Or do you have to order the whole column to include this bit? If you can order it separate, how much is it? If not how much is a column?

not answering your question exactly but as your replacing due to wear its worth saying the wear may be in the collapsable part of the column which can be welded if needed. Basicaly there is a plastic connection somewhere on the column which breaks in the event of an impact to stop the wheel being forced back at you in a very serious impact. But a little tack weld does the same job and has no flex. Dont worry it will still break if really forced provided the weld isnt too substantial.

the column can be replaced alternativly, a few people on here have had this done and the part is around £150 i believe, fitting shouldn;t be to hard, maybe 2-3hrs

I expect JAY172 can give you a more informed answer

Whats a steering column and what is a steering rack? What price are they, how much to fit, and what is it likely to be worn if i have play in the steering wheel and a wobbly drivers side front wheel?

Cheers

The steering column is what goes between the steering wheel and the rack, which is what is connected to each strut.. not sure about price but from what ive heard before delievery is quite long for them...

If youve got a "wobbly" wheel u sure its not related to the bearing or ball joints...
