    Clutch feel

I knew what to expect when I got my 172, stiff with a high bite. However the fact that it feels sharp should be a good sign. It's when the bite feels very woolly and almost not there that you have to worry. Love the 'meaty' feel of the 172 clutch!

My new toy - WARNING - ESSEX CONTENT!!!

Oh dear! This is why I really think these are so much better left alone.

    HID kit for a PH1 172

How much were they Stevo? How are they fitted, or will it be easy enough once I see some instructions? Did you take the bumper off? Thanks mate, good to know.

    HID kit for a PH1 172

Cheers Danny. How do these look? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XENON-HID-Kit-H1-9005-h7-HB3-HB4-6000k-2-ballast-BULB-/250722137050?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a603433da Seems very cheap, I expected them to be more?

    Breaking down - lesson learnt

Lol, I removed the spare on my 106 GTI for "weight saving" and then decided I didn't like the empty cage that holds it to the underside of the car and got rid of that too! Always thought it would come to haunt me at some point, particularly as I often do 120m drives between home and Uni, across...

    HID kit for a PH1 172

I nomally despise aftermarket HID kits on cars that don't have xenons but as the PH1 has projector headlights anyway I'm claiming that is acceptable. Anyway...can anyone reccomend a good supplier for them? What bulb type does the PH1 require? And any tips on where to place the ballasts, in a...

Love these. Nothing special to drive I know, just got that premium, classy VW look about them.

    Strange Engine noise

That's very competitive Fred. Guess what I'll be doing this summer now I've got a 172 lol.

Finally bought a Renaultsport Clio: My PH1 172.

That's reassuring to know. Mines on 104k. A lot of people have commented on the mileage but I'm pretty laid back about it from what I've read on here! It has the history and it runs well!

    Bought it anyway lol :)

Finally bought a Renaultsport Clio: My PH1 172.

Sounds like a nice spec that, Mark. What mileage is it on? I'm all for doing bits and bobs to sharpen them up and keep them fresh, without changing anything too drastic. If you see my 106 thread I only made very minor changes to that, to the untrained eye it would appear unmodified.

    Updates to my 106 GTI

Sorry I didn't end up doing a deal with you...would have loved to. Hows the new car hunt going? I'd done all I wanted to do to it Dave (notice how I did all the mods you told me to ;) ) and it was too nice to rip apart and turn into a track car. I'd spent all I wanted to and didn't want to...

Finally bought a Renaultsport Clio: My PH1 172.

Haha yes...not quite as well as my old GTI mind you! Rides firmer and doesn't corner quite as well. I will be inviesting in some Eibachs as said but that is an approved 'mod'. I'm not into 'lowz' and I'm not really a modifier but the carefully selected bits I did to my GTI did actually...

Finally bought a Renaultsport Clio: My PH1 172.

Cheers Jimbo, do you have them on your Cup? Good question, I think it blows the GTI out the water to be honest. I found the GTI to be the perfect car when on a blast but at other times a bit frustrating, found the power delivery quite peaky and flat in normal driving, felt like it needed to be...

Finally bought a Renaultsport Clio: My PH1 172.

Same here mate. Learnt loads about driving in the ZS and even more so in the GTI. Nice to get a feel for different cars and understand their characteristics! Good call :rasp: mind you, it keeps me out the for sale section for the time being. Once you start buying bits it's a slippery slope!

Finally bought a Renaultsport Clio: My PH1 172.

Haha, you'd be following in the footsteps of a great ;) 1.2 Clio to MK5 ZS to 106 GTI to PH1! I don't mind the fact I've had to wait as I've had chance to sample a couple of decent cars in between, learning a lot about them and driving in general. Been good experience and makes me appreciate...

Finally bought a Renaultsport Clio: My PH1 172.

SteBurns will tell you all my cars are always super clean! Just a quick tidy up on Sunday; quick wash, run over with the quick detail spray, went over the wheels with some polish, vaccuumed the interior out, leather cleaner on the leather, wiped the plastics down, then applied a bit of tyre...

Finally bought a Renaultsport Clio: My PH1 172.

Yes, it's had replacement shocks and I have heard pattern part ones can make them sit high so I wouldn't be suprised if it's that. Been getting ripped about the height locally lol! Eibach sportlines will be my first purchase.
