Abbs Was it RegVardys Renault in Sheffield? If so, Ive had dealings with them before when theyve bug*ered stuff up during servicing... They tried to tell me that the damage was there before they touched it - I insisted it wasnt and demanded to see the inspection notes theyd taken before...

Without wanting to sound retarded... Why not just ditch the cat and stick in a de-cat pipe? Its surely got to be cheaper? Then see if you can get someone in the know to weld up the cat and then stick it back on come MOT time? Just a suggestion... :sick:

VR6man Ive now had 3 complete cowl assemblies as my oil filler flap thing keeps disappearing down the back of the engine, onto the exhaust manifold and melting/catching fire... Ive now taken the whole thing off cos its such an annoying piece of cr*ppy plastic, and mine just started chattering...

Rhys I bought my 172 from these apes and would indeed agree that they are rude and lazy. Unfortunately, Ive yet to find a dealership thats better! At least when they damage my car (in the process of fixing unrelated things) they eventually own up to it and get it sorted... Im going in next...

Paddy, youve got the dreaded ".JPG" extension - you need to change it to ".jpg" (lower case), then tap your heels together three times whilst saying "Theres no place like home" Then it might work... ;)

Err... thanks captain, Ill feel so much safer driving around in my Mk1 172 now(complete with death-bringer alloy bonnet) ;). Anyway, I do look like a racing snake (being green and shedding my skin every few months) so I suppose its the ideal mod? :p Matt
