    Funny links ..to funny cars!

I thought it was a Lancia 037 too (yeh, like I knew what one of those was!). Anyway, I think its one of these: A Lancia Delta S4... http://www.manoir-automobile.fr/Hommell/Musee/Photos/B-04.jpg

The alarm (in all the recent clios) came fitted underneath the black plastic scuttle trim underneath the front windscreen on the passengers side (I know this because mine fugged up!) so you shouldnt be able to see it. The only clues are (as mentioned above) 1) Flashing LED down below the gear...

If Im right, the imports also didnt come with a spare alloy wheel (they come with a steelie instead) - a spare Renault alloy costs £140, so you could use that to bargain with too!. I think those are the two main differences between the UK and Import models, both of which are easy enough to fix...

norfolminis I take it that means the car is an import? All pukka UK cars get a Thatcham Cat.1 alarm fitted when they hit these shores. If theyre trying to sell you it as a UK model then you could try and screw them down a bit more on the price??? Just a thought Cheers (and good choice by...

    Race of the century

I definitely agree that theres good and bad engines. Also, maybe some gearboxes lose more power than others, etc... If you get a bad combination you may be quite down on power. But even if you managed to get that super-unlucky car it still shouldnt get thoroughly destroyed by another 172...

    Race of the century

I know what youre saying teady, but I think most of the good car/bad car stuff everyone talks about on here is down to knowing when (and how) to change properly. Maybe Im wrong, but for there to honestly be that much of a power deficit for Simon to leave the other 172 (for example) would mean...

    People in Sheffield or S.Yorks

Everyone will be disappointed with the figures if we go to John Nobles in Chesterfield, as they actually seem quite realistic, rather than the super-high figures most people are expecting!!! ;) Having said that, theyd be my rollers of preference because: a) Really friendly, knowledgable...

    Willy 2 vs Lotus Elise

simonf Totally agree that a lot of the perceived speed of a vehicle is down to the drivers skills. Therefore, I might have just thought that the 111s I saw was a lot faster than a standard Elise because the driver was pretty awesome (he was certainly trying hard - he spun spectacularly later...

    Parkers valuations

Just about everything in Parkers guide is undervalued by a grand!!! Id like to see them find an "A1" condition Williams for £4900 around here... I dont know where they do their research, but its certainly nowhere near my part of the country!
