Haha! Nice one. They are exceptionally well sorted, and I was thinking about it on my way to work today, the only negative thing about scooby ownerhip is the fuel consumption, which is painful the way I drive!:)
Slayer, have you done Cadwell or Anglesey? We are contemplating either( or both, if finances permit ). In that case, how do you think a FWD car of moderate power like the Cup would do there?
Cheers!:)
I wore my Contis out in 5k miles. I now have Goodyear F1s on the fronts. They are different. Better on road, a smoother ride, less tramlining. Slightly less lateral grip in the dry makes it understeer slightly more, but very good in the wet. Not tried them on track yet.
My impression of the...
I know from experience Leda do a very competent setup for scoobies and evos, but do you know if they are adjustable for both bound and rebound?
Cheers!
Scoobies with Leda suspension and brake upgrades are a completely different thing. Awesome on track. The standard car is not a track car. It would completely sh*te all over an Elise over a wet, bumpy B road, which it was designed for.
My Caterham was heavily modified for track use, and...
172Cup, I asked because I know someone( an unusually large Kiwi homo!! ) who has been into Scoobies as long as me( a long time... ) and who also does the 205 challenge.
How are you getting on with the 205? Good series, that!
Came across someone in a CTR who drove like a man possessed, which of course was appreciated! We had a good old stonk from roundabout to roundabout on dual carriageways around MK the other day, and there was absolutely nothing in it. If proper measuring gear had been applied to the cars, I would...
I have a loose heat shield on mine( I guess ) judging by the horrendous noise it makes at sustained revs of over 6k, especially on left bends, I think. Since it hasnt got worse or affected the car in any way, I just cant be arsed to hand it back in. The noise seems to emanate from the front left...
Hahahaha! Yep, Ive been there as well, finding out the limit of no ABS on road! My underwear turned a brownish hue. Great on track, but respect on road!!:D
I kept up with the standard elises around Donington last weekend. The Exige is a different chapter. The technique there is to just pull over to the right and let them pass!:) Also found there wasnt that much in it bw a Boxster S. And a race driver in a Racing Integra R said he was surprised that...
In-gear times? Sad as I am, I actually have Performance Cars original test of the Rallye. 30-70 in 6.1 seconds. For reference, the Cup EVO tested a while back( bearing in mind EVO is Performance Car ), did it in 6.0 seconds. Thats pretty close.
Also Autocar tested the Rallye, stomped from...

My Rallye was fecking fast until I stuck some nice 17 inch wheels on it. Bad move. Looked the tits, but markedly slower, steering got much heavier with less feedback. A mate has it now, and hes contemplating another wheel change. We learn as we live...

Had a go with a couple of V6 4 Motions while I had my Integra, and mullered both of them. The Integra is about the same in the accelerative department as my Cup.
My advice is, if you are planning on track days and have access to something more comfortable for long journeys, buy the Cup. If not, stick with the standard issue.
Hmmm, I personally feel that there is very little difference bw a Cup and a non-cup. It was indeed dry when I tried it out, if it would have been wet, I doubt I could have bettered Teadys times. I dont really know. It would be fun to meet up, a whole load of us, and abuse our cars and timing...
