Posted by Rob: "...and if you braked mid corner youd spin, abs or no abs."
Too right! I am an expert at mailto:tw@t">tw@t driving and have proved that one in my Integra... Ive just resigned to the fact that Ill never be a Schumacher...
I agree strongly with the pro-ABS lobby as well. On a race track or rally ss there are rarely traffic and pedestrians in the road, and ABS can become a liability, particularly on loose surfaces.
However, on the road it is a completely different matter. Driving to work in the rain is a...
Well, actually I had a small tax problem, and sold the EVO in January of 2000 after almost a year. So, I thought, what to buy in the interim, before finances pick up again, and we bought a 306 Rallye for 13400. Truth to tell, I didnt expect the Rallye to compare, but boy did I learn something...

I had my EVO 6 for 10k miles. Awesome car. Close to perfection when it comes to handling, brakes, steering, gear change and driving position.
Fuel consumption left something to be desired, after a while I started getting pissed off about the cost of super unleaded and servicing every 4500...

Paddy, I have had the same sh*t, Ive emailed loads of rally prep agencies, and only one has replied. Pain in the arse. Recarosdirect.com did also reply and put me in touch with a geezer in Leamington Spa, who would fit each seat for 76.50 plus vat. The cheapest recaro is 250 squid. So I sked him...
Jeez. I remember when Stig Blomqvist won the rallies in his 155 bhp Skoda Felicia...
The CTR and the 172 in its various derivatives are both good fun, fast cars that handle well and provide good entertainment on road and track.
All this bullsh*t about 0-6 and 0-100 times gets a bit tedious...

David!
I will make an appointment to come in and see yourselves when I am next in Bournemouth. I had it fitted at a local garage, after which I couldnt engage first gear. So I took it back( ?! ), and they spent ages adjusting the linkage( not the actual mechanism, but rather the bolt at the...
Absolutely, Mike, I really only race cars that are far quicker than mine, theres nothing like being mullered by supercars( or supermodels...)! The scooby is unbelieavable to launch, like a champagne cork! But, give it a go, I certainly would!!

Paddy!
MY stands for model year. The original scooby used a phase one boxer engine, and had the rank seats etc up until the MY97( what I had ), which came with buckets and the mildly revised Phase 2 boxer engine as well as a few other minor differences. MY99 was again slightly revised, with...

I am the only one here, by the sound of it, who doesnt recommend it. I have now had it on for a couple of weeks, and once it was re-adjusted, it at least changes relatively ok. However, IN MY CAR it is no better, or more precise than the original linkage was, and I find the only reason the throw...
All I have is EBC Green Stuff pads, and the car was fantastic around Mallory, with no fade. So Ill leave the discs alone. If it aint broke, dont fix it...
I agree with CUPSIZE on this one. The STI is the business. There was a WRX motoring around at a fair old lick around Mallory last time, about the same as our Cup when driven by the bloke, but unfortunately the girl wasnt as quick!;) So she got overtaken by the Cup... But then she wasnt alone in...
