I think front track is slightly wider on 172/182 cos non RS models look weird (wheels to far in) with 172/182 wheels and wider sport wheel arches
after market 16 or 17's are cheaper!
^ ^ I've had 2 different styles of 17 - Kosei Racing and TSW Catalunya...
Hello Hello Hello!
grille and wheels updated slightly in 2004 - mine's old stylee but wheels replaced
Bacon - get it re-mapped and fit a K&N - massive difference!
Mini Coopers - Bye Bye ;-)
buy wisely and you'll lose nothing!
i.e haggle VERY hard and buy up north, spend a day valeting and spend a long time taking absolutely brill pics. and doing detailed ad. when selling!
I flew to Aberdeen for £40 and drove home a car, saving approx a grand on prices near Northampton!
just re-read.
If you're doing a whole set will take ages!
Go to a fitter - a tenner is better than fuc*ed jack, nuckles and even bodywork if you stamp on brace and it flies off!
^ ^ I damaged an alloy getting mad with one!
they're 'kin useless - made of butter - too much force and hexagon shape disappears!
2 choices:
1) go to friendly tyre fitter - most will change a wheel in 2 mins if ask nicely and not charge - say your jacks broke and yer girlfriend needs the car!

If it's a weekend car that does decent journeys (10 miles+) then OK with 2 years, but if does lots of very short journeys or town work, most...
maybe I'll try a stripped out R27, but I was well disappointed with the sheer lack of ooomph (albeit a tight demo car)
It was a beautifully finished quality and refined car (bar noisy in 6th gear @ 80mph) with fab brakes
BUT got back in the D and at legal speeds it felt more responsive...
BUY nearly new with 5 - 20K on clock (50%-60% of new price)
SELL 4-5 years with 60-80K (third of new price)
that way you get the best out of a car with minimal depreciation, only one or two cheap mots, one set of tyres and pads, but no shocks, clutch, discs (if lucky), exhausts etc...
