Lucy,
The Captain is right about the driving course. I didnt notice the bit about driving for nine months!
Good luck in court, and work on improving the skills behind the wheel.
And by all means dont slit the wrists!
Ed
Hey if you give all of your lifes saving to L Ron Hubbards organisation and you think your life is better, then I suppose it is.
I you give your money to Ecotek. and you think your life is better, same deal.
And the percieved improvement in both cases is in the same place. Your head!
If...
Lucy,
Dont take offence to "spacer". Just a figure of speech I tend to use to describe most any driver from absolute beginner to Michael Schumacher.
Good luck.
Ed
The 172 really doesnt need any modding. The bit that needs the modding is the spacer betwixt the steering wheel and the seat.
A good start would be a bit of high performance driving instruction. Then you would be able to utilise the performance capabilities of you car as it is and suss out...

Yeah you are much better off drilling a hole in the intake manifold. That way you can position it perfectly for even distrbution of the extra turbulant air and therefor maximum efficiency.
Im sure the Captain can help you with the positioning of the hole or holes.
Sometimes I wish that 1...

Buggers are still doing it. Noticed this morning that the water temp gauge light is out as well. The two red lights stayed on for about 30min. Then whe I stopped for petrol they didnt come back on. At the ring they came on once and stayed on for one lap but were off for the rest of the...

Both the water temp light and the oil light came on at the same time and stayed on despite plenty of oil in the sump and plenty of water in the rad. They stayed on for a short trip of a few miles, and then went off after I checked the car out after getting home. Is this a precursor of...

Yes, about twice a week. It is just down the road a bit from here and takes me about 1:15 to get there.
Check out this site: http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/photolap.htmlhttp://www.nurburgring.org.uk/photolap.html
There is plenty of information there. Make it a long weekend and it is well...
Ben,
Think of the female equivalent of a Willy. No not that! I mean looks and performance wise. Marry her and just sort of look at her now and again.
Impossible...
So how do you shell out £15,000 for one of the best drivers cars in the world and lock it up in a garage? It is unnatural...
Talking of track time, the ring will set you back €560 for a years lapping. Hundreds of UK drivers make the trip rather often.
It may be expensive getting there but the track time is a bargain. and getting there is half the fun. It can make for a great holiday.
Ed
All I can say is that the guy obviously hasnt gotten his moneys worth. Cars a meant to be driven and enjoyed.
That is like marrying a virgin and keeping her that way!

They are very strict and have unmarked cars patrolling for that kind of stuff. You are not supposed to flash cars out of the way and if you get caught tailgating you are in deep sh*te. If someone annoys you, hand signals of any sort are out as well, huge fine for any sort of provocative...
Michelle Mouton drove an Audi quattro. I guess that must be a girls car then.
Sabine drives an M5 ring taxi. I guess that must be a girls car as well.
And Sarah Fisher drives an IRL car. Obviously a girly car!
A guys car is the same as a girls car. Nothing to do with chromosomes at...

Yeah the limiter is a bit crude and seems rougher in the lower gears or if it is approached quickly, but when you just sort of sneak up on it in top mine is seems much gentler. Dont know why but that is the way it goes.
Probably got a lot to do with the mechanical advantage of the engine in...
