Yeah the limiter is a bit crude and seems rougher in the lower gears or if it is approached quickly, but when you just sort of sneak up on it in top mine is seems much gentler. Dont know why but that is the way it goes.
Probably got a lot to do with the mechanical advantage of the engine in...
There is no way that you would have a rev limiter cut out the way you describe unless something is seriously amiss. It should only cut out till you get back to 6500ish. Maybe a couple hundred rpm but no more.
Funny thing with mine is that on part throttle in 5th gear it sneaks by the limit...

Funny that. The roads clears when I drive my old banger of a 300TE 4matic but approach at 220 in the Willy and the buggers are a bit slow clearing the passing lane!
These Germans have been taught to respect the star but the little frog cars have to earn their respect.

Not sure what the numbers were but it was a 1.6 litre BDA of some description. Jennings built the vast majority of them and the weak link was the block. The block was routinely replaced in the rebuild. It would develop cracks aroung the main bearing webs if I remember correctly. Mine put out...

Now I know what my problem is! All my grey matter must have been sucked out by the BDA in my F/Atlantic RT4 back in 87. I knew there had to be a reason...now that makes sense.
Dont forget Michelle Mouton in the list girls!
Rallying...my favourite! Nothing quite like flying through the...

They will be fitting an Ecotek I hope...
That will cure all of those problems in one fell swoop.
The Chromium Plated one works best. Make sure you specify it. I is worth the extra cost.

Yeah most of the old sixes were. Im pretty sure the chamber was in the head though. Never saw one in bits.
I avoided them like the plague, although I had a 64 Chevrolet with the old six and "three in the tree" as we called the column mounted gearshift, shich was cooler than an automatic...
And check this site out for an awful lot of information in English and many links to videos etc.

Somebody might check with Renault to see if they have any special...
Bit of a bug here. I went away to get a link and came back and the message with another link was gone!
Check out this site which is the official ring site. There should be lots of links from it...

Damn, I tried to find Pagids and ended up with Ferodo DS 2000s. Just put them in today along with a set of front rotors. Well at least they will be better than the OEM brakes which were Ferodos as well...

In those cars it was WOT all the time unless you were on the brakes.
But that was the cheat at the time and it was virtually identical to the Ecoteck. And a whole lot cheaper!
The engines were horrible OHV pushros non-crossflow straight sixes with a carb that would look right at home on a...
