Re: 182 problems ,traction control light and serv light always coming on in my clio 1
;)
I have a spare brake pedal switch if anyone needs one, £10 posted :)
Yeah it's a strange one but I think it's down to the fact that pressing the brake pedal switches the CC off, and if there's no resistance in the circuit then the UCH assumes there is a fault with the braking system and disables CC for safety.
No, it'll be to do with the resistance. The CC monitors the brake light circuit and if no resistance is detected it assumes the bulbs have blown.
I have no idea why, but since I fitted my resistors mine works fine now.
Yeah thanks, just had a look at this. Wrong car but gives the basics and I'm more than happy to give it a go :)
States they can even be fitted cold, but this is obviously going to be more difficult.
Thanks, so does that mean the ABS ring is separate to the discs?
Sorry, that was aimed at Rob -
Fearless, do you know if the rings have 26 or 44 teeth?
On the front of the Clio Mk2 1.2, are the ABS rings separate to the discs?
Also, are they model specific or would one for a 1.2 be needed?
Same goes for the sensor, are they model specific too?
ABS and Serv light comes on after prolonged 50mph+ driving and it is not the brake pedal...
Re: 182 problems ,traction control light and serv light always coming on in my clio 1
I wasn't speaking literally  and from my experience the sensor takes a few minutes to adjust correctly, it's fiddly at best.
The SERV and AIRBAG lights coming on is a common problem, its due to the wiring of the pretensioners going to an open circuit.
Fiddle with the wires under the seat an the problem should go away.
Re: 182 problems ,traction control light and serv light always coming on in my clio 1
Changing the sensor is a 5 minute job, adjusting it takes a little more time however.
There is a guide on here, if I remember correctly Andi_B posted it.
It will be one of these two fuses;
F26 Lightbulb with left pointing arrow 10A Left-hand side lights - Interior control lighting
F27 Lightbulb with right pointing arrow 10A Right-hand side lights - Interior control lighting
