yeah well i think perhaps the new bios's have resolved these issues. To be fair that thread is 2006. It may have been in the past but as with the old windows 64 debate, dont think it's a massive issue now. There are so many positive threads on evga and even this from overclockers forum
I agree...
can i just say mate...you are wrong. the 780 board is much worse for quad clocking. it's the most unstable quad clocking board around, i had two, both were asus. If you got to the asus site > forums > look at the model there are hundreds of people who can't even install windows on quad cores...
Dude i have a 680sli board and it's perfect for OC my quad q6600, was very easy and has great bios options. Stable at 3ghz without any issues at all, got it up to 3.4 but was running to hot for my liking.
If you want SLi, your best bet is EVGA too as they have upgrade programs and 10 year warranty.
Dude, there are two versions of GTS, one with the new chipset and one with the old one, the new ones are 512mb. Thats the one you want, both are dx 10 both are built for vista. I had the same choice BFG 8800 GTS OC or GT OC. went for the GTS which actually beats a GTX in most cases except at...
GTS outperforms a GT like for like. try a GTS OC vs a GT OC :P
look on tomshardware.com for reviews, they're well known and very good.
p.s. yes i meant artic silver 5
He clearly doesn't have the budget for that... and raptor drives aren't that great, they're so bloody noisey and pricey it's pointless. mayaswell raid 0 two normal drives
Looks good...before you do it....make sure the cooler fits the case!
xifi cards work fine with vista now. was a big issue in the past, not anymore.
maybe get some as5 and if i were you, get a gts!!!
ALSO just so you know... if you have problems with the install process let me know...i had a...
seriously i'm not saying it for the sake of it. i'm siginificanltly quicker. almost typing speed but perhaps it's just me. woudln't want to go back now i have it and thats the truth
anyone who actually has an iphone will agree texting is a breeze on it, i'm twice as quick using the touch keyb compared with predicitive text tbh. seriously you justgot to get used to it. Camera isn't as bad as people make out, example:

tbh download LOST in 720p and put that on your telly and it's significantly better than it's regular counterpart....i've done it loads of time and it makes a lot of difference. Really seeing a bluray movie on a ps3 is your way forward...
cable makes no difference so get whatever one.
corasir ballistic??....it's either crucial ballistix or corsair. Either way go for OCZ Sli ready stuff if i were you.
get a 512mb 8800gts not a GT if you can afford the difference.
tuniq tower is good so is everything else.
thats what nlite does...will do most of your install for you including putting in their key, it's got sys prep embedded. Advatange of nlite is that you can bung loads of drivers in there and windows finds all the hardware automatically. whereas an image will have an exact copy of a hard disk so...
i woudl suggest nlite to create custom XP install with all the drivers on you need, or something liek norton ghost or other imaghing software.
google nlite (or vlite for vista) its free and works well
it's very easy to flash bios mate, most mobos have an onboard utility that will allow you to flash from a floppy, removeable disk, or cdrom even. Worst comes to the worst you can defo do it via floppy disk...if yuo have one that is!
750i seemed to have less features in it for me so i went with...
well i'd look on the asus support forums about that motherboard before you buy it...i bought an asus 780' ooard and it had no support for Q6600 was screwed up all over the place.
in the end i went for an EVGA 680i SLI mobo with 1066hz OCZ ram, works nicely. overclocked it very easily too.
