i have no loss of power which is said above lol
its just the noise
sometimes a quick oil change quitens or sometimes silences it
in my case it made it worse lol
its usually because of non regualar oil changes that the dephaser gets noisy too
After trying to sell the 172 i have decided i want to keep it and getting it up to a much higher standard to enjoy it another 12 months
pay day is on the horizon and i have a list of parts i want to get
if anyone has any individual links to any one of these items for a good deal that they...
i have about an inch of play in my gear lever wether its in gear or not
not really bothered me but if there is a way to sort it i would also be interessted in any info
thats what i thought....because its a b*****d it must be the 172.
but why are the exhaust been fabricated and why is the standard one sitting to far back
ill actually go look now
As title really
i removed the mongoose exhaust system from the 172 phase 2
which is designed for this model
but it has been cut and re welded making me think it has been adjusted
for a 182 manifold
other thing is that the standard exhaust is back on but when set up it fits to far back for...
yea get some genuine lamdas mainly the one closest the manifold.
how does it run from cold?
sometimes it can accelerate slightly when holding the peddle in one place if that makes sense
i always find a good dose of vpower helps with my mpg
no point changing a belt and no tensioners....unless its off anyway and its already been changed.for example if you have had cambelt an tensioners changed then 6 months later the dephaser goes.then you may aswell throw a new cambelt on while doing it
if its due dont change just the belt
ive just redone mine with the new gassing machine at college.it should be below 10 but on older aircon systems they can be as low as 2
we did a auidi a4 2002 an that was 2.3 brrr :) but my gf 2005 mini wouldnt go below 10
the newer aircon systems try an keep a bit of economy to them
they are situated in the tank are they not? unless you bought a phase one fuel filter which i think is outside the tank
you do not need to touch it unless youve hit 150k apparently
not dangerous, ive seen alot of people drive round with leaking shocks.or they have leaked a long time ago an there is no noticible oil on the shockers but wonder why there back end jumps round corners lol
youll notice a great difference when you change them mate
