i think any weight saving 10kg or over is worth while in the cup. dunno how much it would save but the standard bonnet is quite weighty, if i put the whole thing on scales id wager it would be over 15kg`s
.. ohh and the VRS featured in that V6 v Fabia last week where the fabia won was only a 175hp revo`d vrs !!! the jabbasport ones are really fast due to the imense torque, forget peak hp (although £250 will see a 130hp vrs gain 40bhp) lbft is where its at.
we have also kept and been slightly...
actually m8, it was mapped at a place called Jabbasport, it has a cupra intake, intake mod, filter and actually pushed 195bhp and 330lbft (stock 130) but was knocked down to be safe everyday driving. figures are now 185-190 320lbft.
ctr 197 hp vrs 190 hp
ctr 145lbft < hehe vrs 320lbft...
Carbon fiber bonnets for 172
anyone got any pics, facts, price, places info for carbon fiber bonnets on a 172/182/172cup* ? i.e weight diffo or just weight.
ive seen two in the gallery but there not really good enough shots fot me to gauge.. i mite just do it though but id like to fully make...
that car is one of the best looking on CS. usually that colour is too polite but with turinis lowered and bonnet it makes it look sooo subtle and nice it pushes into seriously nice looking teritory
looking mint m8. what recaros are they and where you get your cage from ?
just fitted my hillpower to my cup and have removed back seats, wanting some buckets next but dunno what to get
err it was fairly easy on my cup ? is it harder on the 172MKII ?
i have hillpower induction kit + bought new pipe 65mm. managd to get a perfect twisitng feed to the kit with NO bend straight up, also kept standard feed point
tied both to open side of filter a few CM`s away with tie clips...
funny how the 172 was all icesilver and now the 182 has been out for a while there all blackgold you see around, only seen one titainium colour on a 182 and for that it looks unique, but i wonder if its the funky wheels and zorst that makes blackgold stand out more or if its that titainium isnt...
i know which one you mean, its the 1.4 / 1.6 end of line models. they have rounded fog moulds on the outr front bumper, colour coded all round with slightly lower skirts and simular RS rear and 172 style alloys in 15`s although i wouldnt go as far as saying it looks like an RS, its more like...
well its more like on each roation of the wheel with the speed of the same noise (as in a loop) increasing with faster speeds ?? could be breaks i need new pads though
MKI`s look better i guess if your not into latest fashion and appreciate proper car styling. having said that there are a very few MKI`s around but ive only seen 1 MKII seems even more exclusive (probably due to cost)
get MKII do a few tweaks from 255 upto 270 and it will improve greatly also
0-100`s you quoted are wrong BTW. ive done a proven 17.5 to 100 in a stock MKII 172 and so my 90kilo lighter + 8kg unsprung extra with turinis will be 17 flat if not the same as a ctr (prolly faster hehe)
also my bro had sailed past a CTR in his skoda Diesel also with 185hp ( 320lbft snigger)...
its not too far forward (ok a little) the real issue is 1st third and 5th there a stretch, now il admit it i have short`ish legs and long monkey arms in 5.8" with me booits on so im quite close to steering coloumn not massivley, but if i was taller leg wise it would imagine unless i had really...
... i was looking at imola buckets but cant find any reviews of them. people on here seem to go for the cheaper (£100 each cheaper) Monacos with steel frame. they weigh 9kg each but the imolas are just 6.5kg each ! with carbon ones weighing 5.1kg eek
so i guess its only a 5kg saving and £100...
8kg`s iirc but there are superleggeras that are lighter look simular but different enough to still look individual some one of here has a cup with them on but i cant find the image ?? someone will post it im sure. think the super leggs are 6.5kg so a good 1.5 x 4 kg saved.
im getting my...

im currently running an old laptop that i got for free from my dad about two and a half years ago, it was a replacement for the laptop id borrowed/nicked from him before and its never got much use until now. ive just bought my own home and so i cant really afford a brand new PC so...
change the seats in the cup should save weight, look good and offer better protection and driving posisition. then remove rear seats and use harnesses.
to top it off try getting a good deal on some FK coilovers or push the boat out and get some H&R.
im getting some cobra imola for my cup...
