Good comment Eric.
The 205 GTi 1.9/5 GT Turbo/VTS/Clio 16v/172/Williams/106 GTi are all pretty close in the real world. Each has their strengths; each their weakness.
The VTR is a nice motor and a good introduction to hot hatches. Its hardly the be-all and end-all of telepathic...

The guy who did the work on my engine is an F7P (Clio/19 16v) engine specialist, so Id expect he would know how to get power out of the engines. Derek Pratt in Winchester.
Lofty: the tyres are fine mate. I knew what to expect with the Yokos as I had the same tyres but in 16" all round before...

Sorry Nick - black or dark grey for me! I want get enough to do the top of the dash (probably black). Id love to have the doors/rooflining done, but think it would be a job for the professionals really. Im going to be having a good sniff around Glens custom leather-ed up interior!
Id like to trim the top of my dash (extended 16v one) in alcantara. Looks fairly straightforward, but I cant find anywhere that sells alcantara!
Cheers.
Mine didnt work when I got the car.
By chance, I had the dash off while cleaning it and noticed that the wire joint had worked apart just behind the switch on the dash. Have you tried that?
My mate just disconnects the battery from the car and re-connects it again when he uses it. Saves a lot of hassle, but make sure if youve got a Cat 1 that you disengage it first!
Mine was registered 8th July 1994, from Renault London. Id have personally waited three weeks for the "M" plate: the bloke was obviously really desperate!
Mine also came with optional leather.
Ive just swapped from 16" wheels back to the original 15" Speedline Phase 2 wheels. Initial accleration actually seems a bit better, though Id not put money on it.

Windows could be due to switches - a common problem. Regular switches cost £25 and the one touch ones something ridiculous like £75!!
Heater matrix is another common problem: about £130 to fix.
