The other thing is that Renault will be replacing the Clio soon(ish) with a 3rd generation. There wont be a 172 equivalent on the market for a while - just like the 1996-1999 gap between the Clio 16v and 172. Opens up demand...
Vauxhall is after a slice of the big bhp hot-hatch market. Its been growing nicely for the past few years now, so there will be enough slack to swallow a fair few examples of this quite possibly deeply underwhelming car.
I very much doubt that it will gain a reputation as a must-have hot...
Induction and exhaust will make it sound nicer but add little to no power, while 17s (depending on tyre profile) will certainly rob you of overall speed. I dont think there are any magic mods to get you real power out of the 1.2 16v units - and the "real" engine tuning mods will usually only...
What do people have in terms of suspension set-ups on their Valvers?
Whats hot and whats not?
How much will it cost me to get a good set of shocks - adjustable at the front?
Cheers
Geordie - I think BB had a 172, as someone else on here is just about to buy it.
BB - I doubt that you often pull out the red cloth in front of the bull on the Pug forums as you do here. As right as your opinions may seem to you, youll obviously get a reaction for saying a Clio is not the...
The weirdest thing is people who want to do 45 in a 30 zone, then 45 in a national limit zone.
I dont have a problem with people travelling at slower speeds - as long as its clear to overtake. The limit is a limit and not a recommended speed as some people think. I frequently do 50mph on...
Yeah, youre so shy that you turn away in photos...;)

J-K reg Phase I 16vs definitely come with yellow fogs. I seem to remember that it was a requirement of the French government to have yellow painted lights full stop until the late 1980s!
On single carrigeways in urban areas and especially in 30/40 limits, I keep to the limit. So tailgaters get an automatic and brief flash of brake lights (rear fogs if at night - same effect).
On motorways, I always pull into the inside lane - not that many cars tend to be in a hurry to...
VTS is going very cheap. 106 GTi seems a better buy at the same price, but at £3k more...
Otherwise, I had a Xsara 2.0 TDi as a hire car in the summer, no thoroughbred by any measure, but swift and economical all the same.

Are the Clio 16v front fog lamps the same as RT ones?
Its just that http://www.Andyspares.comwww.Andyspares.com seem only to offer 16v-specific fogs with a yellow tint, which I dont want as my car is a Phase 2.
Cheers.
My car (sitting on its "new" Phase II wheels), me and Matt Brown. Steam is not from the engine!

There are often four or five different shades of a particular - single - colour. Or so Ive been told by a very experienced body shop man.
If you got it off the shelf from Halfords or somewhere similar, rather than after giving a supplier your VIN plate details, then I dont think it can be...
