It became standard in late 172's as in around 53/04 plates to bring it inline with the 182's which have it. 02 172 wont have it unless it was spec'd at the dealer. Do you have the switch to deactivate it as this is a sure fire way to tell? ;)
Basically car starts fine and mostly runs fine. Leave it idling and after about 3/4 mins it starts shuddering asthough it's going to stall. Revs drop, engine shakes and exhaust vibrates around faster and faster until it finally cuts out. Techie said fuel filter needed changing.
Can someone in the know please point me in the right direction of the cables that feed the interior courtesy light from the door switch? Ideally I need to know their location behind the dash and their colours if possible?
Cheers
Get to the fault codes display, then press your reset button that is mounted in the speedo. It also resets your trip readings.
Sorry I don't know anyone to call.
Try re-setting the fault codes to see if it clears the fault. If it does then the ECU light should go out. As for the speedo not working I think this is due to the remote output of th LG unit but I'm not 100% sure.
Good choice Ryan ;) lol!
But on a serious note, as Andy said above buying the car and insuring it is only 50% of the actual cost of running it. Bear in mind other items such as increased tyre wear, increased fuel useage, higher tax band, more often (and expensive) servicing... the list goes on...
Remember, it's your right to have the car repaired where you want. You do not have to use the body shop flux suggest.
Sorry to hear about the damage mate.
