I can't say I've ever benefitted (performance wise) from track spec pads. I've always relied on tight-as-f*ck brake fluid maintainence and fresh kept calipers. As for the heat factor, discs are cheap.
Nothing wrong with angel eyes, but those are dog lights. £150 is a price for brand new. Anything less and you're getting dodgey lamps that won't pass mots because they don't hold the bulbs right. Is it a mk3 you're shopping for?
Suction cup and heat should work on that. For the scratch use a touch up kit. The claim probably won't do much as 90% of car parks have a "at own risk" disclaimer displayed somewhere.
Did the old induction and exhaust combo and got a custom fuel rail & vvt cams. After a remap my 1.2 16v does 90mpg while old lady driving, 75 on motorway and 55 when ragging it.
Not too sure but the best bet is a renault dealer. ebay had some cheap dodgey options but I'd go spend £20 extra for peace of mind.
If my memory serves well, the pretensioner in my 182 seats is only held in by a few torx screws. You could just replace the whole airbag & tensioner system for a...
Firstly those are 172 seats. 182 have all white renault sport stitching and white dot pattern on the alacantra. Also the airbag wiring looks completely different. I think you may have 172 seats from a phase 1 sport. I think you need an adapting loom for that. (I'm guessing your 1.2 is a phase 2)
Can't stress how frustrating all this was. Had to plasti weld the top dash console back to the dash and completely take apart the lower dash to install new ac switch panel because I fooked the original by forcing it out
If it's a spinning collar or meant to be a spinning collar, then you're better off welding another bolt onto the centre of the locking nut. That'll allow you to remove the bolt as if normal. Most garages will do this for £10 cash
I knew a guy that fibreglassed his own pannels. Built up moulds from a roughly shaped metal shell and filled with layered wax and then hardened sand. Not everyone likes putting that much effort in but the entire mould build will cost less than the panels sold by dodgey internet sellers. And a...
It's only hard if bolts round off. Yours is probably too young to have that problem unless you've taken it to some air gun nutter. As above its just a case of bolt off, bolt on.
Wheel off, turn hub, unbolt caliper and hang up on the springs, unbolt carrier, unbolt disc. Grease everthing...
The skirts fit without the wings but the skirts are designed to fit ontop of the wing. You will just have a big ass panel gap to deal with. But i suppose a fabricator could make up some trim to fill it.
Sounds like a crank sensor. If it was an Earth the electrics wouldn't work at all. The sensor is under the air intake and above the gearbox and on the side of the engine block.
What's the model and varient? Engine code would help. Could be anything so as much detail as possible is needed.
Do the electrics still work? Can you hear the fuel pump kick in when you turn the key to position 2? Does the engine crank when ignition is turned?
Define normal. Don't think any genuine renault covers will fit that well. Maybe a 1.2 16v cover but they always look incomplete. I'm sure you could get a nicer one made by a decent fibreglasser.
^^ agreed. Shattering the collar is risky and you'll waste a perfectly good socket. If you weren't so far away I could weld another bolt on tonight and have it off in a minute. Literally a minute.
Rac and AA daren't the most reliable with these kits and the last time I saw them use it they decided to charge through someone's premiums because they considered it "private work and not a breakdown". The weld job will take a few seconds of you drive to a garage and slip them £10.
And trust me...
Yup, that's a spinning collar! you need to weld a standard bolt to the centre of the security bolt to get that off. And remember, drilling f***s the hub.
The front is easy enough. You just need to wrap the centre "tunnel" of the diamond first so you don't have patches of silver. The rear is a b**ch. You need some proper wrapping tools to tuck the wrap into the bootlid handle. The alternative is taking the diamond off the handle and by doing so...
