I had one on my 182, dire fit. I bought one of the first Milltek systems to replace it and the bloke who bought the Milltek system off me (after i'd sold the 182) had a Blueflame on his car and it was literally hanging off. He told me it had been repaired about three times previously.
5k is hardly cheeky seeing the price of it is now £5295.
Those wheels are s**t though. I'd go for cup packed alloys myself.
I bet the Blueflame exhaust is probably on it's last legs too.
Good choice. I was of the similar thinking of you when I first drove a 197, back in November/December 2006. Then a while later I saw a R27 in a local dealership and thought "hmmm I really must give the 197 another try..." A couple of months later I ordered one and haven't regretted it one...
When i first saw the promo shots for the GT spec Clio, I thought not a bad face lift and thought that the RS version would look even better and tempt me into parting with my cash. No chance now, think my R27 will stay with me for a couple of years and I'll start tweaking it - KW coilovers first.
I would definitely buy another Renault.
I've owned four clios and nothing major ever went wrong with them. Apart from the K reg 1.4 RT, that I bought for 85 quid, with six month's MOT. In six months it never missed a beat, only to succumb to rot on the rear sills. Sold it on to Dave at...
Re: Interesting news for Future RS Owners.
I always thought that Renault used the Gordini name as they didnt have the rights to Alpine in the UK - Now they have bought them from the Peugeot Group - Why bother with Gordini??? Trust me it'll be Alpine not Gordini.
I loved my old 182 and the way it put a smile on my face. But I think my 197 is just as good and puts a smile on face when I drive it. My R27 is fantastic around a track or country roads and has an that engine loves to be revved - The only think that sucks about it is the power delivery, the...
No Fletch. Rentech are the best (without a doubt) Renault specialist on the south coast. But I have to say Hemming in Chichester are the best dealership.
A few times now they've looked at my car and my previous car (182) at the drop of a hat for warranty work. Decent cutomer service too -...
Sorry gtvlew - around the last 80 or 90 R27s had the revised gear ratios. I missed out by two weeks. Not that there's a great deal of difference though.
Noticed the cooling fan came on for no reason (normal driving) then a beep and a warning message appeared on my dash saying that my engine is overheating. Talk about jammy... This all happened 200 yards away from what probably is the only decent Renault dealership on the south coast.
Pulled...
