Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

I haven't buddy. Do you think the 50-72 value from torque (if correct) is a bit amiss?

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Update. Drove the return 120 mile leg this morning and the car didn't miss a beat. Averaged a neat 34.9mpg rolling at motorway speeds. Popped on Torque with the OBD connector to see if i could capture what might be throwing the rear O2 error that keeps cropping up but sods law, it didn't. A...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Hey @Martin_172 that seems like a sensible approach. Ok, quick tidbit. Car has this weekend taken me around 120 miles on a trip to meet the fam without any issue. Returned a tidy 35 mpg although plenty of huge bangs and lots of bogging down so that is likely not accurate. Also, went to start...

No worries bud, I do appreciate the help that you (and others) have offered. Really :) J

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

FYI. Charles Hurst took 3 days to do the timing first time. It was wrong. They had to do it again, took another 2 days. It was wrong. I gave up. They gave me money back. I (quite madly) a few years later then asked them to investigate for me the poor running. The found nothing but...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

That's not really helpful Louis. I am trying to fix this myself............as an enthusiast..........and I am trying to learn. Yes, a certain degree of parts cannon firing did happen based on sure thing fixes (injectors, coil pack, lambda etc)..........none of them worked. Which IMO is quite...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Are. You. Kidding. Me. Louis? I have been to 2 "specialists" in Northern Ireland. Let me tell you something about our specialists................they are turd. So until the DUP get our bridge built across to the mainland then it is going to involve a boat trip.

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Right...........still suffering this. In fact, it's really starting to bog down quite a bit lately.....p'raps the colder mornings or whatnot but anyway.................could this car really be over fuelling? Or could it just be under igniting? Do fuel pressure regulators fail on these? Do they...

    Eugh........water under back seats

Ok, so was giving the wee car a clean after using it as a house moving workhorse for a bit and noticed that under the rear ns sead is sodden Had a look around the area and cannot see where it might be coming from so gonna dry it and cover it in talc to see if it helps me trace it. Any general...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Did you have a permanently missing cylinder or was it just in certain situations? See mine idles lumpy as frig (despite having the Henk map with raised idle) and only hesitates in certain driving situations. Flat to the mat it pulls real strong with no missing or ignition breakdown. But, say I...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Cheers bud. Appreciate that. I was hoping to completely rule out coil pack/plugs/injectors and up stream O2 as these were all replaced with brand new and the symptoms didn't change. I can't think of much else that would effect the running in this manner apart from plug leads and perhaps the...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Ach ffs............reserved leads with the code above and went down. Was given a box of Pro-Spark plugs which looked shocking (pun) quality..............add the fact that one of them was an old and used NGK lead (FLOL!) I just refunded them. While it might have helped diagnose the issue, not a...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Your mileage is quite simply filthy............you lucky git :) Managed to use a wee code today to get the leads for 22 quid which is great and well worth a punt. Have been having some crazy smells from the exhaust that just scream cat and the car is popping HUGELY on...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Its a fair point buddy. Found a Cambiare branded set today for like 20 quid and it might be worth it for a test. Anyone know if that is an ok brand? Never heard of them myself J

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Hey bud, plugs, coil, injectors, crank sensor..............lots of stuff. Just not the leads
  17. jinjur

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Bit of a reach I know..................but could plug leads be a contributing factor to this? I can certainly understand how they might break down and cause hesitations and misfires etc, but with regards to my initial issue (push the pedal and revs drop) has anyone else noticed a benefit from...

Really feint hesitation/miss at light throttle

Never fixed fella. There are 2 things i didn't change and that was throttle body and plug leads so don't know if that is available to you to do. You are a phase 1 thought right with a cable operated tb, turbo? Its a real pig to drive because of this, car idling fine at lights for example and...

Gearbox Removal - Do I have to remove exhaust and manifold?

FYI, sorted it. Steering was dead on straight, well............the wheel will always be straight at dead ahead unless the tracking was changed as the column only mounts to the rack on one position (with the recess where the bolt it) Looked like the steering angle sensor was a full turn out so...

Gearbox Removal - Do I have to remove exhaust and manifold?

wheel didnt turn as it was locked on the key lock throughout the only thing that can have moved is the rack and only by about half a turn at most either way unless i went full special the problem with CLIP, is that i dont actually know of anyone in northern ireland at all who has it

Gearbox Removal - Do I have to remove exhaust and manifold?

Right.....here we go. Not sure if the odds are with me here. I turned the rack the direction against where I think it might have moved. Guessing as I tried so hard not to hit the tre's etc. Anyway, bolted the subframe. Tightened the pinch bolt and pulled the airbag and cowling. I don't have...

Gearbox Removal - Do I have to remove exhaust and manifold?

There wont be a next time bud.....hopefully. I also did have them tie wrapped, real tight too :/ So this is now kinda blocking me from getting this done. What do I do? Just assume it rotated one turn one way (best guess) and go for the build then check the little levels on the steering angle...

Gearbox Removal - Do I have to remove exhaust and manifold?

That's the thing fella. I'm fairly sure the rack moved as the recess for the pinch bolt (in the column shaft) is facing the wrong way. How can I work this out while the car is still apart

    Something let go this morning

So....this is depressing. Easing the subframe back up after being super careful to not move the wheel or the rack......well.....looks like I have managed to do just that ffs :( Steering wheel was on lock so it wasnt that but noticed when the rack end slid into the joint that the little recess...

Gearbox Removal - Do I have to remove exhaust and manifold?

Eugh..... right.....i need help and @hipwell my issue looka similar to this. despite all of my best efforts......when putting the sub frame back on I have moved something....must have been the rack itself yet I have no idea how. So given the subframe is still loose what is the best way to deal...

Audible 'rotational' clunk from the rear under light braking

Had this exact same thing. New discs about a 2 years or so before and caliper was dragging ever so slightly for a while and was put on the "to do" list for too long. No doubt the disc was ACTUALLY beetroot coloured most of the time.

    Something let go this morning

He did bud. And i fiddled to get the other bit one (with the boot) and now its not although I am fairly sure I can get it there again so I hope that will help. I think it was roughly in the middle of back and forth movement and push it into the box and then towards the bulkhead side, right? And...
