I use Halfords fully synth (rebranded Comma Syner-G 5-40) changed at regular and scheduled intervals does the job fine. It meets all the industry standards (ACEA A3 B3 B4 API SL SM CF and MB 229.3, VW 502 00/ VW 505 00, BMW Longlife 98) and meets and exceeds Renault's requirements.
You can buy...
I've had the RS192 on my car for over a year now and get a metalic "tinkling" sound at high rpm ie, when booting it. I've ignored it thus far, but took my car in for an MOT recently and failed on very high CO and HC emissions. Looked under the car and despite it being sealed with copious amounts...
The first 3 years is gonna be tough on space until the kid moves to a group 3 car seat. Group 1 rear facing and group 2 front facing kids seats take up a lot of room, more so in a 3 door car and if you're tall. I have a Clio and a Ford CMax, and for sure getting kids in and out with a car...
If you're OCD with having a clean car, don't get something to cherish because the interior has a high probability of getting trashed. Whatever car you get, consider it as a "workhorse" motor. I guarantee at some point, though not necessarily all at the same time but theres a high chance that...
Thats not to say that it'll run like a lame dog until 20k, for me it just felt that the engine was more freer reving, responsive and smoother. Also it'll be down to your driving style, if you drive it like you stole it all the time, then it might only take you 10k. Either that or a new engine...
There are no software programmed restrictions on the engine. The general advice with all brand new cars is usually is to take it easy for the first 1000 miles or so to allow the engine, brakes, tyres, gearbox etc to bed in/run in. The engine will feel a bit tight for a while, when I had my 172...
Oh sorry, it's just you quoted the times from the TopGear article that just so happens to also have tested them at Pembery. Which I stand corrected as it was actually won by the Clio and not the FRP.
I do also have the Evo test where they tested the ITR, the FRP and Trophy (not a flame red...
Can't find it? you read it nearly 2 hours ago in the link I posted in the 182 vs FRP thread!! The test was by TopGear! FRP won that test, but wasn't declared the best FWD ever!!
So people like to read about the cars that they own and reap the praise bestowed on their steed. Evo heavily features exotic cars such as Ferrari's and Bugatti's and the such like and yet these owners are not the target audience?!! I think I need some salt and a lot of it too!! :S
Well that doesn't make sence! If Evo exists only to make money by including normal everyday cars that we own only to get us to buy the magazines, they why include limited/special editions in their top ten? DOH! Why then didn't they put Integra DC2, an excellent car I add, or Focus ST/RS...
No cars under £50k?, what no Elise or Exige, Caterhams, Arial Atom, 370Z, Evos and Impreza, etc? Yes the guys at EVO drive supercars for a living but also drive and run long term tests of more every cars cars too so are more qualified than you or myself regarding the driving experience of these...
I know a little about the virtues of small light weight car with a small engine, modest power and skinny tyres. We had a 1.0 Micra, 55bhp, 815kg, 155 tyres. In isolation it's a little screamer, very chuckable and limits are very reachable even before reaching NSL. It was fun because I drove it...
Sorry, from your opening post you sounded like you were trying to justify the swap to a 200 because of costs. I'm not trying to be negative or get on any high horses, I already said go for it if you really want to. You asked for an opinion and I'm giving it to you.
But which ever way you look...
Get a 200, but not on cost savings, because there will be little if any money saved on getting a new one. What you're spending to maintain the R27, you're gonna pay the same for the 200. Plus you've already lost +£5K already on depreciation plus interest on loan and you want to do that again...
I fitted the 2 rear boxes first and tightened the clamp around the join between the 2 boxes, but not too much, just enough so that it will also allow me to make adjustments by had to the lined the exhaust tips with the cutouts. Also loosen the bolts holding the exhaust mounts the car to help...
Took me about 3 hours. But not having ever undertaken this kind of work before in my life, I thought I'd take a little time over this! It's a good system and I've never had any issues with it and still sits perfectly as the day I fitted it.
I'm by no means a mechanic but I managed to fit the system without any problems. Have a look at the guide that I did. It might help.
