Catostrophic Misfire fault - Solutions please

No misfire at all nope. Don't think it's an old code as it was reset after an injector failure last year. Light came on randomly and failed mot emissions.

Catostrophic Misfire fault - Solutions please

Thanks for the replies folks. I'm guessing the above wont do the cat any good either? Strange how its running completely fine.

Catostrophic Misfire fault - Solutions please

Ruled that out unfortunately but thanks anyway :) surely that would cause bad running anyway?

Catostrophic Misfire fault - Solutions please

Anyone else had this problem? My ph1 172 has the EML light displayed. Is showing catastrophic misfire as the diagnostic fault but is running spot on. Both lambda sensors have been replaced but the fault will not clear. Car isn't used daily but I haven't noticed it using more fuel than normal...

    Local Area Subdivisions (please read)

Knockhill is a fair point, it is where most meets happen as there is usually an event on. I may be speaking for myself but sitting in a car park has not got quite the same appeal.....must be getting old! We did have a Glasgow meet at Xcape but that must be coming on for 18 months ago......and...

    Local Area Subdivisions (please read)

Maybe i didnt word my reply well. All i meant was defining "borders" or "areas" by major cities is useless. Far better going for districts like previously discussed like SE, NW etc. I dont mind travelling to Glasgow and beyond once and a while. :)

    Local Area Subdivisions (please read)

LOL! Nah I'm still a sensible heed! Unless at the Nurburgring as proven. I'd be happy to lead any driving meets however I don't have the best sense of direction so be prepared for a few wrong turnings. In my opinion Scotland is too vast to split by the major cities. For example, I am about to...

Heavy clutch - symptom it needs replacing?

I replaced the clutch on my 172, because it was worn, not because it was heavy. The new one is no lighter, just not slipping. Its not just the sports though in my opinion, the clutch on my dCi is noticeably heavier than on the petrol equivalent.

I'm up for helping to organise things if required. Monday-Friday I can be a bit of a headless chicken but weekends are usually fine :) even if we could get a few of us to talk who are willing to organise something, take into account the suggestions already made and post something a bit more...

Ph1 172 Flamer with New Paint!

I finally decided to get the full front end of the flamer re painted due to the amount of stone chips. The car always looked ok in photographs but as you will se in the close up "before" shots it looked as if someone had pebble dashed the front bumper! Very pleased with the results, I feel it...
