If anyone is interested I have an invite for the Oneplus X. Goes on sale tomorrow.
Also have an invite to claim for the Oneplus Two but it can only be claimed on my email address!
Just tried that Antutu Benchmark with mine on AK Kernel v18 and got a score of 45844. It was up about 54k back before I rooted and was running stock OxygenOS! f**k knows what's up with it.
I found that once I'd done the whole unlocking the bootloader bit, once I booted the phone back up it asked me if I wanted to set it up as a new phone or restore my last backup. So I restored it and it had everything on it. Literally everything, screenshots, file downloads, the lot. Even asked...
It's easier than it sounds if you follow the YouTube video from a few pages back.
Basically what you're doing is starting the phone in a different mode, connecting it to a PC, downloading a few files, typing some commands on the PC to make said files 'root' the phone, then once you have a...
Just updated mine, seems OK too. Had to do it through recovery mode though. AK kernel updater was saying it didn't have root access even though it did.
Diesels will naturally breathe a bit of oil mist into the intercooler pipework. I'd say if the pipes are a bit wet its not really anything to worry about but if there's actually oil pooling in them and enough to drip out an unconnected pipe then that's a problem
Well after dragging myself up to knockhill early yesterday morning with no guarantee of a space on track, it actually paid off. A guy's clutch went early on in the day which meant a space was free for me to get on. Was a bargain too, only costing me 50 quid for just over a half day!
Car ran...
Wondered where you'd went when I came back off track today! I had a spare set of plugs you could've tried too.
Really good day though. Enjoyed trying to keep up with you on the few sessions we were out together. What's happening on the 31st?
That's good to know they're still alright Craig, cheers! I was a little worried when I saw them haha.
Never heard anything from KH anyway so looks like I won't be getting a space for tomorrow. Will still more than likely come up to watch though.
Well, today I found this :fearscream:
Was still holding out a bit of hope that I'd get a space on tomorrows track day but with that I think I'll be giving it a miss now even if I do get a call saying I have a space 😞
Haha yeah, I used to think my battery lasted fairly well when I wasn't using the phone too. Always lasted better when I disabled GPS but it was never THAT bad. Now it doesn't seem to use any battery at all.
Really want to start playing about with Synapse now and get my screen time up but I...
Well... Battery life seems pretty epic now. Still managed to burn through 40% at work this morning until I realised I still had that "ok google" detection shite turned on. Now I've turned that off and double checked and sorted out a few wakelocks I've only used about 20% this whole afternoon...
Yeah, it's exactly as I thought. 13 minutes total toe out is a fair bit, although it's still within reason for what these go to. The more toe out you go, the more the car is going to wander over the road, following the camber and bumps. It's the hit you have to take for the increased turn in...
Just went for it anyway lol. Seems to all be working fine.
Got confused with all the talk of flashing Oxygen 2.1.0 them updating to 2.1.1. Mines was just already at 2.1.1 after I unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP.
Well, I'm rooted! Running Oxygen 2.1.1. Just getting the phone set back up now.
@Addicted I've found AK Kernel here. Do I just download the file for Oxygen and flash it the same way as I did with SuperSU?
Yeah I really have no idea why I haven't got round to doing this sooner. It seems so simple now lol!
Only thing I don't get yet is the kernels and these modules. For changing the kernel does it need to be done at a certain point in the process or just once the phone is rooted and everything is...
Just had a quick look at a dummies guide to rooting and its much simpler than I thought once all the terms are explained!
Now I actually understand half of it I'll give that video guide a watch that was posted a few pages back.
Cheers mate! Will give this a go later, internet filters in work block access to all email websites and cant access the forwarding options from the mobile site :unamused: I literally have nothing better to be doing this afternoon as well 😂
Quite looking forward to getting all this...
I also deleted my outlook app last night lol. Most of my reasoning came from this thread actually! If I set up forwarding on my hotmail account through to my gmail and use Inbox, will that still keep my battery use down? Already using Inbox with my gmail account just now and its awesome!
As...
Nah, nothing like that at all! I have greenify but it doesn't work automatically without root. I should have just rooted it when I got the phone! Now I've a load of stuff I'll need to back up first lol.
In fact, I uninstalled the Facebook app last night to see if that would make a difference...
Ah, fair point then. Not kept up with the thread much recently!
I really need to learn more about android and make the most of the phone. Clearly a lot to gain from a bit of customisation. Seems like it's location services that are absolutely hounding my battery. Turned them off completely...
What are you doing with the car? Track use? Daily driver?
They're good as standard. Most recommend the cup dampers which you'll have with it being the FF, paired with a good set of lowering springs, like Eibachs or Cooksports.
I checked the car under petrol station lights last night and there doesn't appear to be any marring. Just a few deeper marks that haven't came out.
Will continue with this combo and see if it'll get any of the deeper marks out on that area. I'll try tripple on the rest though. If that works...
