Oh dear, I was driving behind a non-sport with one of those "sport" badges on last week (placed it under the clio badge of all places) :o...I quickly inducted past him to prove his car was made of fail ;)
I made the mistake of cleaning my engine bay (didn't jetwash it however :o) and got a terrible misfire. I got water into the spark plug wells and I thought I'd ruined my spark plugs as they had gunk all over them so I bought brand new NGK plugs which didn't fix it. Then I thought I had injector...
Ah right, well I've just bled my brakes this past week so I can't be bothered doing it again! I'll wait to paint mine until I next change the brake fluid :) which will probably be a while yet :dapprove:
I've been thinking of painting mine yellow this past week and this has made me actually want to go out and buy the paint and get it done. I presume you're leaving the calipers on the car when you paint them? or is it best to take them off? :o
If you're still using the stock speakers they are pretty bad, get yourself a decent set of speakers (£25-30 ones would do tbh as long as they are a decent brand) and maybe some sound deadening material to put behind the speakers. I found adding this made a hell of a difference to the audio...
The steering wheel is in pretty good nick I think, especially compared with some I've seen lol. I want to do a number of mods to this but can't thanks to my insurance. I want some Eibachs and a K-tec stealth! :dapprove:
My 172 will definitely spin the wheels a fair amount in damp conditions in 1st, and I have pretty decent tyres on too (I have no TC). I'd have to start off at about 3000rpm+ for it to happen though. As for economy, my car averages 33/34 MPG per tank and according to the computer on motorways...
Just wanted to know if these pads would do the job? I never trust the eBay descriptions :o

Thanks in advance! :approve:
This sounds exactly like what happened to my car, I cleaned the engine bay and got a bit of water down into two of the plugs. Funny thing is the car ran perfect for weeks afterwards, but when I changed my plugs to some new NGK's, the problems started! But anyway, it turned out to be my HT leads...
I noticed a difference changing my gearbox oil, no idea if it had been done in the past but it feels much better for it. I used Fuchs Titan Sintofluid 75W-80 (3 litres) :approve:
I snapped mine a few weeks back too, got my brother to try and change them for me but we had trouble getting the heat shield off to access the cables because of the bolts just spinning and also had little room to attempt to get them out...we ended up giving up so I'm going to get mine done just...
Presume you mean front and rear indicators? I got some of these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Silver-Indicator-Bulbs-581-RENAULT-Clio-2001-/270491469486?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3efa8c46ae - they seem to do the job nicely! :)
As for LED sidelights just search for 501 LED bulbs...
As Dunn said, there is a hole under the door mirror which makes a whistle/howl...my car does it too but when I'm going 70mph+ :o or when it's really windy out!
Well, yesterday while changing my gearbox oil I rolled my car down off the planks of wood and yanked my handbrake up far too hard causing a big bang/snap sound resulting in a handbrake that goes all the way up, it still holds but I'll have to leave it in gear for now :dapprove: didn't think to...
