Mine were only failing after heavy throttle application straight on to brakes. Chances are yours would've been the same. ABS light took about 15mins of driving to activate.
Pedal just goes totally solid, zero braking effort. So dangerous.

I bought the 'road' variant and haven't had any issues at all. I dread anything happening that necessitates contacting them, their service seems disgusting.
Yes mate. Swap your rings from the standard discs and you'll be fine. I heated them up a little bit then tapped around the outside with a sharp flat bladed screwdriver to gently loosen the rings, they should prise off quite easily

There was no 172 Cup in Oz, therefore no Mondial Blue. Could've gone with an Arctic 182 though that would've been close. Sounds like you got yours at well below market value though so wrapping is a small price...
It sounds like a load of b****cks by Mintex tbh mate. Anyway hopefully enough people see these threads and avoid brake failure. G172 is aware of it too
Sod's law I did a search and didn't see anything bad about Mintex. Ironically I had the option of Brembos without ABS rings or Mintex with rings from G172 and chose the Mintex as it would be 'easier' lesson learnt!
Just to add, George's service was great. If only Mintex put the correct rings...
