Picked up this Monaco Blue 172 from a former member last week, it's currently on 85k with a few choice mods such as Silvervisions, Cup spoiler, Turinis & Cooksport springs.
Plans are as follows;
-New PAS pump and Aux belt kit to be done by DTM Cars
-New Discs and pads all round thanks to G172...
Lift off the power harshly at the apex. Clios are pretty easy to slide, trail braking into tight corners in greasy conditions works too.
Just remember to point the wheels dead ahead and power on hard to catch it.
Not many shops are going to want sweaty, virginal geeks hanging around for 6 hours. There's nothing wrong with going for the midnight release but wasting 6 hours of your life for a game is pathetic!
Late to the party on this one, just bought Banther's PS3 and five minutes later been offered an Xbox for 50 quid.
Looks like I might be joining the sweaty geeks at midnight then!
As Dave said, the fastchip map masks it slightly as it raises the idle speed by about 200rpm iirc. Get the map done, it transforms the car altogether.
The lumpiness is cool anyway!
Lumpy idle is definitely normal. Often wrongly diagnosed as a misfire.
Your clunking sounds the same as what my car had, mine ended up being the 'dogbone' mount bushings, replacing them with powerflex bushes is the way to go.
How are yours standing up to the British weather? I had mine in Oz where rust isn't an issue, I'll be looking to buy another set when I get another Clio.
