I was recommended and have read a ton of posts about the sportlines being a good upgrade - and I done my first trackday on them on my standard 182 wheels 205/45/16 and have destroyed my inner arches and shaven the outer tyre off going through the liner and touching the metal.
Is this normal...
Quick update after a lot of playing around. Started playing up again and been caught out a few times and today it was quite a bad one but recently it's just been about 30% covered in condensation. All again coming off roundabouts at a little speed (motorways) compared to your normal roundabouts...
Yeah they were upside down but pressed in so hard and into a groove in the mount so it looked like they was fitted but once pressed out it was obvious.
Flebay how do the Renault ones work? these look very similar to the gyro you get on a bmx. the old ones I believe we're genuine and look...
I got the mounts out today and the bearings already came in them and they was pressed in very tightly when they was out the box so he fitted them like it as he couldn't push them out. turns out they came out of the box the wrong way round and now it's all smooth :)
Also the top hats have dropped...
Yeah OK that makes more sense I couldn't understand why it would be higher if it's missing. I'll hopefully look tomorrow but I'm working so I'm a bit tight for time and light. here's the top mounts box
Surely without a bearing fitted it would sit even lower? I can't see if something in the middle is missing it would make it sit higher? like I said I'm no expert but it just sounds weird if you see where I'm coming from?
I'll get a picture of the brand tomorrow I have the box somewhere
Let's hope so! nearly every other problem has been a nightmare! even changed the abs loom when it didn't want the lights to go out. then bypassed the new plugs underneath by the sub frame and it works fine but even with a new loom it didn't want to go. the car has a ghost I swear
Yeah I thought so. I know the newer kit sat higher than the first type which everyone is used to, and everyone used to pack it out with washers because the old kit sat low so that's why the new kits came about so I can only assume this is the newer version but even to me it seems too high. it...
I've just had the bonnet up and can see the right hand one when turning seems to stick then ping round every time the done happens. I assume something is too tight or causing resistance there. I took the top hats off and it makes no difference what so ever :(
If driving this I assume it will...
What else could be wrong? it's making 5/6 'donks' per full lock also are these OK as they seem quite high compared to the old ones? the guys back in work Wednesday so I'll get him to have a proper look at it
OK thanks for the reply this seems logical. looking by at the top hats they seem to sit higher than the old ones, the old ones used to sit quite tight to the strut and I do remember before about Renault changing them as there was so many problems before so I can only assume these are the newer...
Yeah it's like the spring is tightening by rotation then twanging back to its loose state if that makes sense. like it's being wound tight then jumping back to being as Un wound if that makes sense I'm terrible at explaining.
It had new bearings fitted when the top mounts were fitted. how are...
Hi,
I had eibach sportlines and new top mounts fitted yesterday and now when going around corners or parking you can hear the springs constantly knocking as I move the steering. is this normal for the first few days or is something not right here?
I've had a search and I can only find a ton of...
See I have thought this exact thing and spent weeks looking at meggys. looking at the 0-60 0-100 of the 225's its nothing in it comparing it to the 182. besides I love my 182 and I think they look far better than a megane too! I did think about getting a scrap 225 from a write off and doing an...
Sounds good. I'm happy to do the work myself but if the parts and fitment don't have much price difference I'll just pay the extra. is it actually worth doing for the money it costs as I'm considering just selling up and getting a more powerful standard car like the Audi S3 which has a turbo as...
Yeah I can see how well they like water haha but it's one of those situations that come out of no where and catch you out by surprise so I doubt I'll catch it in time but may be able to get a pic of it steamed up.
That's what I've been thinking but it doesn't look like water could get into the box as it seems sealed at the top but I've already got the silicone and going to give it a go anyway.
Sorry reviving an old thread. I have been looking at getting more power from my clio 182 too and have been looking down the super charger or turbo route too. there are a few companies who do turbos and i can only see k tec for a super charger. Clioturbo.co.uk are advertising a fit your self...
And tony regarding the recirc button ill give that a try after work, as far as I'm aware it does work as when pushed the fans gain extra power, if that's the best way to describe it. Its not something I have on though.
Ok thanks for your help guys.
The scuttles are free and clean and its bone dry in where the scuttle pipes sit, the only water is under the pollen filter in that sealed box. This was my first idea as its such a common thing. Also my footwells are dry which also helps me to believe its not these...
ive searched about loads of problems with the heater matrix. where abouts is it located? i started another thread about about my windscreen steaming up on hot fans and its possible mine might be leaking. i have read its a pig of a job to do but just wanting to know its location.
im going to...
