Just check all your fuses, a visible check should be enough, no need to pay a garage. I've changed bulbs back there before too so its possible they have gone, I can't remember how many there were though.
I’d imagine they’re aren’t many off the shelf. If it’s the na 1.2 then you could just get a cat back/ back box and tip at any exhaust place for not much. There aren’t really any power gains to be had so if it’s noise and looks you want I’d go with the above.
They are usually low profile heads so will round. I’ve been there! Ended up chewing it to pieces so got a bolt removal socket on it with an 18v Milwaukee. I’d try lots of heat if you still have intact bolts.

My mk3 has started doing this. Going a bit dim occasionally until I give the dash above the clocks a whack. I’d imagine it’s a loose wire or a dying bulb but I can’t be bothered to pull the clocks out at this point. It will be an easy fix.
