Hi,
I've got a few questions about fitting Jenveys and an Omex
The wiring looks easy enough - only thing that needs splicing into the omex loom is the lambda sensor if I'm right?
The dashboard lights - apparently you get quite a few of them stuck on. Is this a case of remove the dials and...
Right guys
Current spec of car is..
Bilstein B14 coilovers, camber bolts, OMP roll cage with custom rear harness bars, pure motorsport top mounts and strut brace combo
K-Tec stealth exhaust and de-cat. RS Tuner 182 software and remap. Speedline 2118 palmersport wheels
I'm swapping my recaros...
So I did FCS and was faster than most other things out including other 172s but the damn thing was very understeery. It ate a set of rainsports too
So since then I've been winging about the car being crap and basically bein miserable
Well it's brands hatch on Thursday so I thought I'd get...

Ermmmmm 220bhp at the fly from just a remap, filter and exhaust??
Impressive!!!
I've got a B&M that I want to get fitted tomorrow (please no "bye bye gearbox" responses :))
It's 2nd hand and came already fitted into the plastic surround so I guess it's just 4 nuts underneath and the whole lot drops out
Question is though - I'm assuming heat shield will need removing but...
I'm stripping the dashboard out the clio next week so I can remove the sound deadening behind it and start spraying the interior
I figured it's a good time to send the dashboard off to be flocked - but got a quick question
Can my 172 dash top with passenger airbag be flocked - or do I need...
I've had my 172 cup for about 18months now - bought it as a replacement for my 106 gti (I had 106's for 8 years before the Clio)
I liked it as a daily drive - had leather recaro's and leather rear seats and it was a good little car
Did the 'ring in it and did a mid 9minute lap and again had...
I need some decent track-capable tyres for the clio.
The rainsports I had were fantastic on the road but got hot and fell apart on track :(
I was hoping for R888's but in 205/50/15 which I run on the 2118's I can't find any anywhere
A048's are £800 a set - so they're out my price range -...
My DIY camera mount seemed to work well at Brands Hatch - but my little point and shoot only does 640x480 and my Canon 7D is too heavy to mount there lol
I've wanted a GoPro HD for years - I think the angles and fun you can have with them is awesome - so I went out and got on - got the LCD...
The steering on my clio isn't as 'tight' as I would like
There seems to be a lot of turning of the steering wheel before it actually turns.
Compared to my old 106gti which a twitch of the steering wheel would throw you across the road...
I've fitted new track rod ends - as they were...
My cup is in the process of being stripped for track abuse - and next year I'm planning on entering a race series with it
Tonight I took all the carpet and sound deadening out the front
I got to the airbag ecu and figured I might as well bin it as I don't have any air bags in the car any...
I've just got my ds2500s - the 565 model as recommended
I've read Freds advice to remove the shims and file down.
I've looked though and they don't have shims. Has the design changed?
Do I still need to file anything down before fitting?
Thanks
Had the car 18 months and it's knocking on 113k now - thought i'd check when the cambelt was last done
Last receipt I can find was when sir_dave owned the car - July 2008, 62k miles
Cambelt Kit - £99
Aux belt - £12.30
Cam plugs - £10.50
2 hrs labour
I think the guy I bought it from...
Since I've had the car a year now I thought I'd better get a bit of a progress blog up
The car was owned by Sir_Dave and another lad on here (sorry if you're reading - forgot your username :() - and I picked it up January last year
It's high mileage but has been thoroughly loved all it's...
Earlier this year before I went to FCS I went to get the car tracked and the guy put the front tracking gear on the back and told me my rear passenger wheel was showing 3 degrees of toe in

I want to move my battery into the boot
Stumbled upon this photo
Where can I get a bracket like that?
All the ones I can find are for the race batteries rather than a full size one
I've put a deposit down today on some new 2118's in 15"
I've ordered 205/50/15 tyres as I wanted a bit more rubber on the tarmac
I just realised when I got home though that speedline do ET38 and ET43 in the white 2118's
Which ones do I want?
Presumably ET38 to be close to the cup...
Just had my MOT
Among other things it's failed cos he said the clip has dissapeared that secures the CV boot (the large one)
Is this a case of stainless steel cable tie or jubilee clip? Or do I need to buy a new cv boot to get a new clip?
Thanks
There's something a bit weird with my throttle pedal
It's smooth 90% of the way down - but when you get to 10mm from the carpet it hits resistance and you have to really push it to go past that point
Like a lump - it's really hard to explain
I made a video of it on my iPhone that i'll...
I've got a track day coming up and then a week at the nurburgring - and I'm not keen on constantly abusing the tyres on my turinis as they are road tyres
I can't really afford 2118's unless I use them daily either
So I was wondering - are there any renault steel wheels that are 6.5 or 7"...
I had my cup tracked up before FCS and the guy at kwikfit (don't say it) told me the rear beam is bent
He put the front tracking gear on the back and the passenger rear wheel was showing 3degrees of toe-in
I've found a very low mileage mint 172 cup rear beam - just the beam and arms (no...
Loading my car up for FCS I knocked my 16gb iPhone 3GS on the floor and the f**king glass shattered
It still works fine but it's covered in cracks
I have O2 insurance which I've been paying £10 a month for for the last year
What's my best option?
1) Claim on insurance - anyone know...
I bought a genuine OMP steering wheel boss for my car (172 cup) to fit my OMP wheel when I got it but it doesn't cancel the indicators like the standard wheel does
I try to ignore it - but it drives me nuts - I get halfway down the road listening to some music and forget my indicator is still...
Right...
What's the actual deal with buying new wheels for a 172 cup?
The standard offset is 38 or something? but all the wheels I'm looking at are ET40
How much real life difference is it going to make?
The standard wheels sit quite well into the arches - so is it worth getting some 5mm...
Got a new alternator (finally) for my 172 cup
Need to swap it this weekend
Any advice on how to do it? Where the bolts are etc... - not having a haynes manual bothers me slightly
Also where the main power lead connects to the alternator - I tried undoing that last weekend after soaking...
After all the fiasco with Raceland/KTR - I've decided I'd rather just buy some coilovers from KAM Racing - as I've used them many times in the past and they've been brilliant
Looking through their website I'm wondering what people recommend between these :-
Weitec GT (£561) -...
