Could be faulty Throttle position sensor. bolts to the side of the throttle body. , Tells the ecu the location of the paddle. Had the same though of issue on my Clio 1.2

£180 from Ktec is overpriced. Could make same set up up for a third the price

Open cones suck in warm engine from the engine bay. Warm air doesn't combust as good as cold air. Got V6 air box.

What about standard Shell fuel save ?

Flashing EML usually means whatever is happening is damaging the CAT. Try replacing the Pre Cat Lambda sensor.

Was just about to get to that but crank sensor doesn't usually cause light to come on. TP sensor does though...

If the light comes on does the car actually start ? Does it go in limp mode ?

Phase 2 is done off the ABS rings. Checked fuse for speedo?

Had timing done recently ?

Phase 1 172 is throttle cable where as a 172 Cup is drive by wire. Apparently phase 1's have better throttle response, after driving both I would have to disagree.

I was aware of that but £259 is still cheap. Specialist for both belts changed and dephaser on a 172 cup is still £450.

£259 for a cambelt change? You sure that not just parts lol you would be looking at that just for parts not including labour. Just make sure you specify you want Dephaser and non specialist tend not to change engine oil and filter after depahser change, what defeats the point of changing it...

Is that just Cambelt? If doing cambelt I would do Aux as well :) average price for all belts on a 182 is about £750 so think yourself lucky :(

Isn't head-gasket failure on a F4R fairly rare? Don't hear about it to often ...

Yh both sensors are the same just the one after the CAT has a shorter cable but apart from that they the same. £70 is for a Bosch one, so you can get cheaper brands but in my experience they don't last as long.

Bosch sensor is about £70. Does the car have a decat ? What the O2 fault on bank 1 or bank 2?
