That's the one I think I'm going for as well, got a really good torque rating (180lb/ft more than I currently have) and not to harsh for daily use, so will be able to take everything we throw at it.
Standard flywheel won't be a lot to get done, certainly nowhere near the £300 of an...
So why does Bren rate ACT over RPS then?
I think either would be more than good enough personally, my mate drifts with a standard clutch and that's fine!
Yes
Paddled ones are harsher and also if you use them on the road, you need to slip them when setting off "normally" and this wears them quicker.
Not a chance you'll exceed the 449lb/ft of the ACT Extreme organic one either, it's basically as good as a paddled one but better for road use.
Places like Driftworks or SRB Power sell RPS clutches, but Bren at Apex rates the ACT ones, and I'm going to go with one of them myself, they also come with everything you'd need like a new release bearing, these are not included with the RPS ones.
Don't get an paddled clutch for day to day...
No probs mate, there are plans to sort that out though...
I'd rather spend my money on performance, handling and brake upgrades before I spend them on styling, which is what's been done and that's why it goes like a rocket but still looks fairly standard at the moment, although I'm on the...
Your grammar is terrible! :S
Firstly, this is the UK not Australia, so price comparisons between the two are meaningless!
Secondly, they are a reliable car and my God they are certainly built better than a Clio, my brand new 172 Cup was a joke, I've seen Christmas Crackers...
Yeah, there's no way a standard clutch will cope with any more than 1 bar of boost, so you'll need a new one, I'm in the same boat and going for the ACT heavy duty organic one from Apex, £289 plus fitting.
With the uprated clutch fitted you can run 1.2 bar then as you have the right mods in...
You could get black leather as well, I went for black as I aint as keen on cream. ;)
The "Touring" also got things like side skirts and a better stereo too, the top spec model.
For a cheap but actually quite good upgrade, the Brembo discs and Ferodo DS2500's are spot on, that's what I...
Similar performance to the 172/182 as standard, but faster top end.
Yeah, for not a lot of money they can be made a lot quicker!
These must be one of the cheapest Jap turbo cars to run, insurance is reasonable, parts/spares are not expensive, fuel economy is not bad (mid 30's mpg)...
Does anyone on here own the Blue 53 Reg Clio V6 255 that was on the M65 a few minutes ago and then turned off into Burnley?
I was driving the 200SX ;)
Also that V6 is my mates old car, I've driven it a few times, here's a pic of it outside my house.
My totally factory standard 172 Cup, at 2 weeks old, with :1200 miles on the clock and some stuff in the boot ran 15.0 dead at Santa Pod, with a few more miles on the clock, a Pipercross Viper and the rear seats out it ran 14.5's all day long.
The Clio is a good car for drag racing...
You can't accurately calculate a cars performance just from it's power to weight ratio, there are so many other factors to consider, such as gear ratio's, aerodynamics, traction, etc...
Yeah, they're a quick car down the 1/4 mile though...
My 172 Cup was consistantly running 14.5's @ 93/4mph with just an induction kit and the rear seats out, superb times for a near standard car! :approve:
Both my 306's were ~3% out, the Clio ~5% so both pretty good.
My Mrs' 106 GTi overreads a lot though, loads at low speed, but gets better at higher speeds?! :S
In terms of GPS comparison, both my 306's were more accurate than my Clio was...
Not saying that they all are, but the Clio overread more than the 306's, although my CTR overread even more than the Clio!
