Just get the belts and dephaser done then keep on top of oil changes. And it will last a good while.
You could put cams in whilst the belts are off but the cost of fitting, cams , belts ,dephaser and mapping will be up near £1500 and you still have the dephaser.u
I'm considering this conversion.
Reliability would be the biggest factor imo.
Are you going to be going down the forged route or just running standard internals etc? Will the standard valves be upto it? (Don't hold up to well just NA )
When mine got keyed. It cost £450 for rear passenger door, rear wing and bootlid. That was fully resprayed and blended in.
Think the ex needs a backhander to the chops!!
Excuse my drawing lol.
Both these have side exit exhausts first one i would say it will be quieter due to going through a centre box first.
The second just goes through the cat and out the side, will be loud and brutal. red line is the valve,
takes two seconds to change, either whap it out then quickly stick new one in, but you will lose a bit of oil.
Or
Drain the box first then do it.
Or
Never done it myself but jack the passenger side up as high as you can (but be safe) then change it and there shouldn't be much if any oil lost.
