No, MaxDSL works out the highest speed you can get over the first 10 days.. Highest speed == maximum stability is what it aims for.

The reason Windows only needs one partition is because it uses an absolute rubbish approach to swapping - pagefile.sys, wtf. / and swap are the minimum really.. and most Linux installers now do this automatically.. as in "let it do the defaults". Altho, as KDF says, it is good practice to...

Exactly. Any Easynet connection I've ever installed/used for people is absolutly solid as a rock. Extremely good - probably why it's so expensive through Easynet. Can't see Sky being any different seeing as they own them..
