Heh, http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/digitaltv/a43031/virgin-media-to-lose-sky-channels.html
Haha,
Just think if Virgin Media were to loose the premium Sky channels too - Sports and Movies? Like.. it'd be useless? :p
Free, Open, Net, yea..
Definetly seem more orientated to server setups.. and they always seem to have good server hw support (FreeBSD anyway).
After using Linux (Debian) for near on 8 years, I find it hard to switch to anything else.. it's just too good ;)
New ClioSport server is a HP. I'll get back to you after Sunday :p
Mainly used Dell before.. on everything, and they seem good. (Windows based).
Went HP for their superior Linux support..
Not at all.. certainly not enough to notice it.. and certainly not enough to complain about it.
The only time I have had them on here, is when Sky was in 4:3 mode, and not 16:9 - when it was sending 4:3, it looked SHOCKING.. is awesome now in 16:9.
This is ALL via Sky+ (none-HD) - dunno what...
I doubt AOL will let you have a static - I doubt they even know what IP is.
A lot of ADSL suppliers will let you have as many as you can justify (4, 8, 16 block) Business ISPs often more.. (Easynet etc..)
You can use the Mac version, yes. (Office 2004)
You can also run Parallels which allows you to run Windows on your Mac, whilst still in OSX. You can also run Windows apps side by side in the Beta using Coherence.
Yea, RHEL has that advantage. I'm hoping the Debian *proper* support on HP Proliant's spreads to proper support too.. and not just packages for monitoring agents etc.. altho, I'm sure they support their packages already!
We shall see.. tech support is generally overrated - if it's not on...
Ah, RHEL.. yea, that's kinda cheating tho :p
I guess if I did it, it'd be CentOS.. but still.. I wouldn't.
HP offer proper Debian support now tho, on some of their Proliants.. so guess which servers I'm advocating? ;)
Horrible.. never ever liked it.
Same with RedHat, Same with Fedora, um.. infact, anything which uses RPM as it's main package management system.
But, in seriousness, if it's not Debian, it's not even worth thinking about :rasp:
