So you trust magazines that much?!
Look at the reviews in both Autocar & Evo and they both claim different things from the car...
i.e.
Evo say the 182 is 69kg heavier than a Cup, wheras Autocar think the 182 weighs 111kg more than a Cup!!!
Magazines often get it wrong!
The 182 is gonna be just like the 172 and Cup were, theyre basically all the same cars, built on the same line, by the same people...
.:xTreme:. you know what they are like, so if you were happy with the Cup, why not with a 182?!
Quite funny really... my 14 year old R5 is better built than modern Clios, as is my GFs P-Reg 1.4 RT, so what went wrong?!
Great cars though, I loved my Cup... :D
Currently f*ck all as the engine is mailto:sh@gged">sh@gged!
Got a new engine for it though, I picked it up last night and am fitting it over the weekend.
Will be running about 150bhp (ish) so nothing mad...
Well, after 9 months of fun with the Cup its going...
Sold it to my mate whos picking it up tonight after work, and for the time being Ill be using my R5 GT Turbo again.
Ill still be using the forum though! ;)
No, not all 172s have traction control...
The mk1s never got it, neither did Cups and the early mk2s missed out as well.
Was brought in mid 2002 and ESP is the traction control system.
Dont panic about the lack of a spare wheel, a lot of cars dont have them nowadays...
You get 2 cans of tyre mousse though, which you connect to the tyre valve, it fills the tyre and expands then you can drive on the tyre again.
The technique varies from car to car, and different drivers prefer different methods, so theres no definitive answer...
In my Cup I found that a more gentle launch with no (or minimal) wheelspin got me my best times.
Basically I was only using about 2500rpm and slipping the clutch slightly...
