Aye, the 182 is basically for all those who wanted the Cups performance & handling, but with all the trimmings of the 172 thrown in!
Best of both worlds really...
Autocar timed the 182 as 0-60 in 6.3secs and 0-100 in 17.0secs.
In comparison, they timed the Cup as 0-60 in 6.5secs and 0-100 in 16.9secs, so basically the wider & grippier new Michelins help the 182 get off the line slightly better, but they are virtually identical after that.
As for...
Well I am good friends with Dave at Kitchens in Burnley (my local dealer), hes been waiting for his 182 to arrive for weeks now, and its long overdue!
They messed the car up (something to do with Cup options) so its delayed, but as soon as that arrives I can just borrow it as Ive done...
Ok, I wanna test drive a 182 and so far Ive phoned the 2 dealers that are near to me and neither one has a 182 in to drive!
Ive seen a couple in the flesh parked up, but I wanna look inside, check it out, have a drive, etc... before I decide to buy one or not!
So, who on here has...
Well, we know that Renault state 17kg for a mk2 172 wheel & tyre, so if we have a tyre to weigh and subtract it, well know.
Just popping out to get a Conti from the shed to weigh... ;)
Doh!
Well, there are differences in the throttle body & inlet on the mk2 (for more low end grunt), the fly-by-wire throttle instead of the cable and the ECU is setup differently too.
The mk1s seem to have more of a "kick" at the top end when they come one cam, but the mk2 has...
Mk1 has different suspension, longer gearing, less low end grunt, smaller wheels, weighs a lot less, etc...
Quite a few mechanical changes as well as visual ones!
