The 50ml sample pots they originally produced pop up every so often. Their 89 edition was ok, but the synthetic edition is supposed to be their durable wax so keen to test against shield
what did you think to desire?
I seem to be going a similar way, desire and illusion. Playing with using a base of menz powerlock for increased durability with illusion as it still leaves a glossy finish next to Z2.
still have sv shield and def wax synthetic edition samples to try when I get the time.
It's more about the ingredients in Toughcoat will affect anything underneath it to create the bond. his happens with all waxes and sealants. I'm not sure how C2 manages to do this, but I wouldnt bother with it just yet until water behaviour or the finish starts to drop. You won't gain anything...
What condition is the paintwork, will it benefit from the filling abilities of tripple, or the clear base of tough prep?
Also tough coat straight over tough prep will provide a better bond than over tripple, so do you want the extra durability or not, but then layering illusion will help
Looks nice chappers, hope the dealer took note.
On the diesel sports car front, manufacturers need to do something that works. I want a car to look nice and handle well, I can cope with average performance provided it drives well enough to carry speed and brake well. Doing 60 - 110 per day...
Avalanche is much more a watery consistency than many other snow foams so doesn't dwell for as long. I only had a small sample of it but didn't do a bad job, certainly no worse than the others out there.
Me personally would have satsuma rock, but get application wrong by leaving it too long and / or apply too thick and it can by awkward to use. I lent it to a friend and he got it very wrong lol.
Temptation is pretty bombproof from my little sample but doesn't last all that long.
Do you want ease of use, durability or glossy finish.
All waxes are very different and have their individual positives. It all depends on what the purchaser is looking for in their wax.
A thread up about this just a little while ago. ASDA were selling it for £2.25 / £3 and it's a bargain but it's now back up to £7. Will be going in to my local store to pick up another couple of bottles.
From my tests it's on par with citrus power diluted 1:1 with water. only falls down on...
Iron x removes iron deposits, it won't touch tar. For that you need a tar remover. Use this when your wax isn't protecting anymore and you want to start again.
typically clay once a year as this will remove contaminants as well as wax. Most waxes will last 3months or more, so use iron x when it...
Don't use toughcoat over the top of illusion. It will go a little way to removing illusion. If anything it should be toughcoat with illusion over the top
C2 is a different type of sealant and bonds differently so might not be as bad.
With the weather we've had in Essex today I have left illusion for an hour before removing. Swipe test isn't really required with it as its so oily. Provided it doesn't bake on in direct sunlight it's fine to leave
Why do you need to put colour back into the car? Is the paint oxidized and dull?
Fillers and glazes are only temporary, if you're thinking of something like the coloured t-cut even less temporary.
You might benefit from something with very fine abrasives to remove dead paint and restore...
In my trials of previous versions, it didnt like bonding to anything. Even prime and toughprep couldnt extend its life compared to cleansers and glazes
With the cost of C2, and Kev's claims of bonding over most bases, this could work out as a once a month quick detailer type product, bit like Z8. Keep the look of a nice wax but keeping up water behaviour.
Kev, what has it been like so far for resisting tar and other bonding contaminants?
c2 is a stand alone spray sealant used after polishing/ cleansing/ glazing. it can be waxed over the top but not required. Gally has tried it alot and seems to think it will sit well over most things, but with slightly reduced durability, and has said he would use it over a show wax.
it sound...
