Stick with temptation. It's an decent all rounder at a decent price.
illusion will add to the finish and the nicest easiest wax I've ever used, but will not last and you can almost see it washing off after a couple of weeks.
Not everyone lives in a CS mansion, never had a house with a garage. Outside next to the oak trees is as good as it gets. Even the motor bike has to put up with a cheap shed.
SNH was a real disappointment to me. Looked nice enough, but durability and water behaviour, and resistance to contaminants bonding was only a little better than other ddj waxes. Certainly not what I'd expect from a hybrid.
AG HD wax would be above SNH in my list.
Never used rubbish boys, but ddj waxes never last long or keeps there looks longer than 2weeks. vics red leaves a nice glow to darker flatter colours. You won't benefit from using it on silver over most other waxes. if you want vics forget concours and look at collector's yellow. But with both...
Mines parked near a tree at home, already getting spots of SAP and aphids droppings on the car. Tar remover sprayed on and wiped off normally removed all signs of it.
Unless a QD has its own protection in it, the beading will also be affected by how well the it cleans the surface. Showing an indication of how well your wax or sealant is beading.
Take Z6 for example, one of the best QD's but does't add anything really to the water behaviour. Z8 on the other...
Have you used a rotary before? If not get a scrap panel and learn to use it properly before taking it on your car.
you can get 3.5, 5, and 6" backing plates, with pads to match. 5" backing plate is typically used for 5.5 and 6" pads.
interesting what you say about the wheels coatings. I presume you're up to speed on the prep and application?
I had C5 on my wheels 18months, occasional top ups with C1.5 and as per the thread I put up there was very little contaminants bonded after that time.
using heavy cleaners would...
working the glaze with a slightly firmer pad will give additional cleansing. something like britemax blackmax or a mild abrasive pre wax cleanser for a single hit. look at some of gallys details with lime prime via rotary. single stage and ready for waxing
what condition, and how hard is the paint your planning on using it on? Personally I'd reach for black everytime, it seemed a very versatile pad.
I started using blue and red pads for glazing but stayed with black after.
Not used 109 for years and can't really remember what it was like now.
I'd forgotten just how large beading was from sealants compared to a nice wax. So far tough coat is showing better beading than Z2 and powerlock
Now we all know you won't go far wrong with Z2, but I've just put a 2nd coat of powerlock and Z2 on the golf, and based on finish and application I'm very impressed with PL. If durability and water behaviour are comparable I don't think I'll be replacing Z2
Anyone used or know much about menzerna Powerlock?
applied to a couple of panels tonight and is quite an interesting product. Felt a little greasy on the pad and less than a pea drop spread round a door. Left a nice little glow to silver too.
