weekly top ups with red mist would see any wax last months and months, as you're not really getting the durability from the wax.
On the other hand the RB does look pretty good, and I'm not a fan generally of RB.
but the people likely to be watching a detailing video, following his intro showing what you should do, are typically going to be more into detailing than not, and for him to give that advice is a little poor imo
Meh, what do they know? they can't even spell wax proper like!
A neighbour bought a matt black Fiat 500 and asked what to use to wash it? after a lengthy conversation on the topic we decided a Tesco everyday value green washing up scouring sponge was ideal for the job
just to show how unfriendly this stuff is, I used a meguiars foam applicator to apply it to my shower screen recently, didn't bother rinsing it out as was going to use it again later in the day.
Later that day went to use it again and the foam applicator was crumbling and breaking up in my hand
That kinda somes up my day so far! If this is what it does to me after 1 day of trying to go through being chartered im clearly not cut out for it!
Watch out, i might just come up with another variant of billy
If the decon and claying dont remove it, the blackhole will go some way to covering / hiding it so topping it with a wax or sealant will help protect all your hard work
When was FCS? It's good but in all honesty unless it's been on there some time, it's not overly tight and uniform in shape. But in honesty I'm a wax beading fan so im biased
Thats similar to the beading i got last week after washing of my AF wax test that has just passed 2months. Sorry bit...
Further to gally's point and re topping it with c1.5. It was ground upon for someone to top c1 with a good performing wax, now.you have yo use c1.5 for water.behaviour, and everyone seems fine with that. Well in that case why not just get Ag lifeshine applied then you just top it up with wax or...
One or two got a bit annoyed for some reason, it has been discussed quite a bit on DW. But TBH what difference does it make? The prices per ml worked out the same when buying the same amounts, so costs weren't different. You could have bought it from one of their retailers if you really wanted...
You apply it wrong to your wheels and trim, it's not the end of the world. Get it wrong on a painted panel and its a costly or time consuming mistake that they don't want the general public coming back to them complaining when it only really comes down to user error. They're all priced the same...
Typical its not good as a snow foam lance, it will give a diluted watery shampoo mix that will run off very quickly and not really do much breaking down of dirt. I use mine for quick rinsed after using iron and tar removers etc.
If you want a lance to create proper sticky thick foam buy one...
Interested in your thoughts of oblitarate compared to tardis, i use very little and would never need 5l of it, so if this works as good or better would be an option for me
Not used amigo but it should fill minor swirls better than rejuvenate and LP so depends on the condition of the paint. I personally really like the finish of them via machine and should set a slightly better base for your wax
Pads is my personal preference but i preferred hexlogic to 3m...
G2 is a dilution of IPA , 1:3 i believe, and is used to remove the dried residue left on the screen. Use anything too strong and it nay affect or remove the g1. I would imagine even though not mentioned it is needed so will come with it.
Id also get gwash
I'm sure that blackhole has a little cleaning ability to it, whether it be chemically in its make up or just from the physical process of application. You'll be fine
I managed 3 full cars and another windscreen from my G1 / G2 kit and still have a fraction left, just not enough to do another 3 layers for a windscreen. And to clarify the front screen needs 3 layers before removing, side and rear glass only needs the one coat and 15minutes curing before...
If I'm just stripping of an old wax to apply new, I would use iron remover, tar remover, then either an IPA wipe down or pre wax cleanser or glaze, this should remove everything.
I clay depending on condition of the paintwork, so providing you keep ontop of your wax or sealant I'm only claying...
^ there is another video somewhere with it used on an off-road buggy that's quite impressive.
G1 is >£10 for only 15ml, but you don't use very much and considering how long they last for, £30 broken down to cost per application per durabilty compared to regular application of lesser products...
G1? I've had it on the wifes car since September and nothing apart from washing regularly has been used on it and it's still the same as when it was applied. think 1year plus easily, probably 2
Had a new windscreen Monday and the weather hasn't been good enough to apply any sealant, and daily driving in the rain has been aweful. I didn't realise just how much I took it for granted.
G1 applied last night and driving to work in the rain this morning I used my wipers maybe a dozen times...
