No, Ive got a copy of a press release from Renault last years about the "new" Cup model and in there it has those weight savings, so they are pukka Renault figures!
You cant get the instantaneous fuel consumption on my Cup or any of the 172s I know, even though it does show it in the manaul, so must not be available on our cars...
Nah, no timed runs in this one... its my mates car, not the garages, he is sales manager though.
His mk1 V6 was the one we did the AP-22 runs in though last year, so if I was to get hold of an AP-22 again hed be cool with doing some runs!
Dash -
The mk2 172 weighs 1110kg too, and the max torque rpm is wrong on there too, so me thinks they just copied the 172 page and changed a few bits...
We wont know for sure until theyre here!
It will fit fine, it will run fine and youll gain a definate performance increase!
Any idea how much this de-cat is and where we can get on from then!?
Mmmmmmmmmmm... wonky! ;)
Mine were the same, so I pulled the yellow 172 bit off and now theyre like this >>>

Like Jon says, theyre only £2.01 +VAT each (part no - 7711291177) so just get some if...
Nah, the average is hovering around the 15secs mark...
My Cup ran 14.5secs @ 94mph with only a Viper, chris n nic ran 14.1secs and TimO ran 14.0secs, both @ 98mph, both with filter, R-Sport ECU, zorst & decat.
I was interested in a 350Z but I am having my doubts? http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=9&TopicID=60397&PagePosition=1see my post
Seeing as how Ive experienced both these cars in person I can tell you now that the 350Z is very quick... quicker than the Clio...
Yes... Im just pointing out what bits weigh what...
The 182 wont be any lighter than a 172, as it may have the spare removed, but there are other bits added, so will end up being basically the same.
Partly right...
The Climate control is a whopping 25kg, but ABS only adds 9kg
Heres a list of the main weight saving areas I got off Renault >>>
- Deletion of air conditioning: 25kg
- Deletion of spare wheel: 17kg
- Deletion of ABS: 9kg
- Noise insulation: 8.5kg
- Deletion of...
Great cars, nobody is denying that...
Ive driven the mk1 & the mk2 on several occasions and yes the mk2 is a better car, but they both look & sound amazing, you get a LOT of attention from other people, and for this reason you do feel special driving one, which is why most people buy them...
For an extra £16k I should bl00dy hope so too...
But it is not actually that much quicker than a Cup and it certainly does not feel as quick as it should do, thats my point!
You cant expect to nail it from day one and it all to be fine...
Theres a reason why you run cars in and its not just to allow the engine to bed in properly, as the gearbox also needs a few miles on to bed itself in!
Gearchange was perfect even on my old whining box, so give it a chance.
