Its even closer than that...
Renault quote 0-60 in 6.5secs for the Cup so theres not much difference there, and when Evo did the Clio group thrash a few months ago the Cup actually beat the mk1 V6 round Bedford by a whooping 2 secs a lap!!!
My mate actually sold his V6 and got a Cup...
"it was Autocar that had the Cup against the 206 180 and the Cup blew it away. They said if the 206 has 180bhp then Renault must ahve sneaked 200 into the Cup or something"
No... that was Evo mate, I have the article.
Its just the fluid level...
When the pads are new there is plenty of "meat" on them, but as they wear the pistons gradually move out of the caliper to compensate and the fluid has to fill the void, so if theyre well worn and the fluid level drops low then the warning light can flash on fast...
Just found out the Chris (as in Chris n Nic) has got an R-Sport ECU for his Cup and will be fitting it tonight.
He only lives a few miles away from me too, so hes offered to let me have a spin in the car and see what I think!
So, now I can see exactly what difference it makes.
The other...
Yeah, hes probably a nice guy really and he just gets a lot of bad press on the forums...
Ive never heard a bad word said about the quality of the work done by LAD and they do a good job by all accounts. Theyre also well regarded in motorpsort circles, but its the wild power claims of their...
You should really get it on the rollers first, then fit the R-Sport ECU and re-run it again to see what power & torgue gains it gives!
Im really keen on getting one, so Id be very interested in this, although someone else just got an R-Sport ECU and is on about doing that.
You fitting it...
Really?!
When did they invest in that then???
Any idea what system it is?!
Its only a few mins away from me, so I might have to "pop in" over the weekend and take a look at the setup. This is good news for me as I wont have to travel for use of a decent rolling road.
Depends on the indivisual dealer really, as some will be complete @rses and not allow a thing, yet others will be more "flexible" and allow certain stuff.
One good thing about Peugeot was that they do allow some mods and wont invalidate the warranty, so when I had my 106 & 306 I was ok with...
Im up in the North West mate, so a long way from you or Id be over...
Only had the Cup 5 weeks though so not wanting to mess straight away, plus Im off on my hols in just over a week so no spare money at the moment, but I do want one!
Why do we not hire a trailer for about £40 (my mate does it all the time) we tow the car down with a vehicle available to us and it will be say £50-£60 for fuel, so about £100 and thats a LOT cheaper!!!
See what Ernie says to that...
Or, we use a good rolling road in the NW so its not far to...
Well, Powerzone is near me (and you) and the RR is not the best setup and has no computer hooked up to it, so no graphs.
But, RE at Bury would be a good idea...
Well, my mate nailed his mk1 172 from onlty 8 miles on the clock and it has now covered ~52000 miles and done 3 track days, but no whine from his gearbox.
Unfortunately it also crunches going into 3rd now....
The higher the number, the better the wear rate...
i.e.
Bridgestone S-02 = 180
Toyo Proxes T1-S = 280
Goodyear Eagle F1 = 280
Hence why I knackered my Bridgestones in not many miles and the Toyos lasted longer!
