Spinksy your best bet is to go down the scrappy and get a new outer drum brake hub part, will be much safer too.. only need to undo the big hubnut and pull it off.

Yep it should save what ever file is on the ecu. I would say more £70ish for the unlock code and overun map, make sure the RStuner box has iirc firmware 1.85 and above so it will support the overun map.

Even if the cable has stretched the self adjusting mechanism on the pedal shoululd correct that! Check there is no teeth missing on it. If its ok i reckon if its on the original clutch the release bearing has worn into the pressure plate hence not disengaging properly.

At least you can now do a 3 point turn;)
